11-5-2009 - What a great weekend!

So I had an absolutely wonderful weekend. Just wanted to share. On Saturday we went to both my husband's parents' and my parents' houses to wish them a happy mother's day. Everything went well which isn't always the case with my inlaws so yay. And that night at my parents' house, my peanut took her first steps! I couldn't believe it. She's been trying so hard but it was still such a startling thing to see. I'm so proud of her! Then yesterday we went up to the Akron zoo. It was great! We've gone to the Cleveland zoo with her a few times but yesterday was the first time that she really seemed to notice the animals. She loved the penguins and the lemurs. The lemurs were jumping all over and she was laughing so hard because she thought they were funny. She also laughed a lot at the sheep in the petting zoo. It's so great to watch her little face when she sees this stuff for the first time. She's so shocked by it and almost immediately her shock turns to laughter. Anyway, just wanted to share my great Mother's Day weekend with all of you. I hope everyone else got to enjoy some special quality time with their little peanuts. Whether inside the belly or out. lol.

Awww sounds like you had a really lovely weekend, its great when they start to notice and understand things makes the outings so worth while, we dont have mothers day on the same day here in England but had a great weekend anyway weather was lovely for a change, my son enjoyed the park etc and I felt the baby kicking for the first time on the outside :o) take care... oh and well done to your little peanut on her first steps.... no stopping her now.
