26-5-2009 - This weekend.

My mood while writing this blog: Good.

Overall, I had a really great weekend! My hubby and I got so much done. I don't know what got into me but I just had a surge of energy and was determined to get moving. On Friday, my parents came over and worked on a swingset that they bought for us. Then on Saturday morning I started working on the new baby's room. I got all of her clothes put away ( I have boxes and boxes of clothes since my peanut is only 9 months, I won't need to buy too much). Then in the afternoon we went to visit friends at a campsite. I really didn't think that we'd be able to stay long because I thought Gracie would get tired and cranky. But she was being such a trooper. She was so cute and being so outgoing. At one point though, she picked up a rock and popped it in her mouth. She then clamped her lips together because she knows that we'll try to get it out. I was so scared so I flipped her over on her belly and smacked her hard on the back to get her to cry so she would open her mouth. Well, she did and the rock fell out but it was the worst thing ever. She just looked at me so confused. I almost cried, because she doesn't understand why I did it. All she knows is that I hit her. I just felt so overwhelmingly awful about it. She was being so good and it upset her so much. But at the same time, I know I did what I had to. She could have choked to death.

Anyway, other than that awful moment the rest of the weekend went great. Jeff and I got up Sunday morning and finished the swingset. Then we went to Babies r us and toys r us to start buying stuff for Gracie's 1st birthday in a couple months. She was so cute walking around in there. She's so tiny, and she gets so excited about everything she sees. She was non stop oohing and aahing. Then we stopped at value city and got a cheap little dresser for the new baby's room. We went home and I finished organizing what we had in the baby's room and then we pushed Gracie on her new swing which she loved. Yesterday we had to go to my in laws for a picnic which went pretty well. My poor baby was so wore out after her long weekend! And so was I, lol. 24 weeks this week. Yay! I have an appt. Thursday but I don't get another ultrasound to check the status of my placenta for another week and a half.

Great sounds like everything is working out for you! Little Gracie is a real sweetie! Thank god you acted so quickly and didn't panic! Shame I know it must be hard to smack her but you did do the right thing and she will remember not to put rocks in her mouth again! Children remember... A swing yay! That is sooo sweet I can't wait to push my little one on the swing! x x x
