My mood while writing this blog: sick |
A lot has happened since the last time I wrote. Last Wednesday, my doctors sent me home because I was stable. I was so excited to go home and be with Gracie although she was super sick. (She is finally getting better!) On Thursday I had a doctor's appt and we talked about going on to a tributaline pump instead of the procardia because I was still having contractions. I was not very happy about that idea at all! But my doctor said that I could probably go back to work next week which was good news. Then on Friday while Jeff was at work and . Dad took Gracie to my sister's, I went to the bathroom. When I stood up the toilet was full of blood. I freaked out. I called my Dad and told him to come back and get me to the hospital. I called Jeff. My Dad finally got back. He was driving like a maniac and I kept telling him that he had to calm down because Gracie was in the backseat. We finally got to the hospital and they started doing tests. They found that I have a placental abruption which is what is causing the contractions. They admitted me to labor and delivery and put me on total bed rest (I hate bed pans!). That evening I started having contractions through the procardia so they started me on magnesium which is the most awful stuff I've ever experienced. It makes me so sick, hot, shaky, and I can't even see straight. Well, I thought that was bad, it only got worse. During the night I started having contractions again and they were coming about 3 mins apart and strong so they up-ed me to the max dose of magnesium. I literally thought that I might slip into a coma. I have never felt that awful in all my life. When the morning nurse came in she went and asked the doctor if she could turn it down some because I looked so bad and she thought it was way too much for me. He let her, thank God. And so far I've only had contractions here and there since then so I havent' had to have it turned back up. If they try to I'm seriously going to shoot myself. Anyway, they're taking blood tests every day to see if my numbers go up which signifies that the abruption is healing and finally today there was improvement! Yay!!! I have an ultrasound in a few mins. The doctor says that if I stay stable (no more bleeding and less than 6 contractions an hour) and my numbers keep improving then maybe he will try to wean me off the magnesium tomorrow. And hopefully I can go home on bed rest not too long after that. Anyway, ugh!

Tuesday, 7 Jul OMG Rosye, you porr love. I didn't realise you had gone back in to hospital, but glad that you are there getting the right attention and that your numbers are improving. I know what you mean about the bed pans, i did them for 6 weeks once when i broke my pelvis, but remember it's not forever and Gabi is staying in and every day longer she stays in the better. Big kisses and hugs to you, Jeff, Gracie and Gabi. E x lizzy831 -
Monday, 6 Jul rosye I didn't know that you was back at the hospital either. I am so sorry. its wierd all of this happened all of a sudden. I was guessing your due date one day and the next day you were in the hospital. it sounds though you might need to just stay there. I'm glad gracie is feeling better. hope you get to feeling better yourself and gabi decides to stay a little longer. ((hugs)) chanks -

Monday, 6 Jul Oh my goodness Rosye - so sorry to hear you are going through so much!! The magnesium sounds terrible, but thankfully it sounds like you have some great care, and they are doing everything they can for you! I'm thinking of you and hoping baby decides to stay put for a few more weeks so you can at least be at home in bed rest instead of having to stay in the hospital! Stay positive, and keep us up to date when you can! Hope your ultrasound goes well!!
