My mood while writing this blog: Ok |
Well I have been have severe nausea for the past week. By severe I mean 24 7 of just an awful lump in my throat, I cant even think of eating, nor I cant even force myself to. If I take a sip of water, it makes me feel worse. I can handle nasea. It is a great sign of a progressing pregnancy, and it is only short term, BUT the health of my fetus are being effected.
After many phone calls, and talking to many doctors, as of 2 days ago i have been taking Diclectin to ease the nausea-and I have felt fabulous, my nausea has lessened about 95%, I feel slightly quessy at the moment , but Im able to function and get food and liquids down.
I do not take drugs of any form, tylenol, cold pills, cough syrup.........but I have ben forced to take this, and its making me feel good, but at the same time I feel like a weak person because of the need to take it. I am so happy and privledged to be pregnant, and many women around the world have been worse of than I and have no access to these drugs and they survive...........so I dunno, it makes me feel bad.

Wednesday, 28 Jan Awww, sorry that you feel bad about taking medication. I know what you mean about not wanting to take any medications during your pregnancy - but you're a smart mommy-to-be to realize that you need to be hydrated and nourished so your babies can grow the best the can. Take good care of yourself! (I took Zofran for a few weeks during my pregnancy and it helped me so much. And then I had the appetite of two horses for the rest of my pregnancy and gained way too much weight! lol) minkymoo78 -
Wednesday, 28 Jan You shouldn't feel bad! As long as it makes you feel better and it's not harming the baby it doesn't matter what you take. x RubyLove -
Wednesday, 28 Jan Everyone I know has taken diclectin for nausea, it's really a very common med for preggo women. It's very important that u do though..I was very very sick with my pregnancy,I had hypernemesis which basically is severe vomiting during pregnancy to teh point that you get dehydrated and is not good for the fetus. I had all kinds of anti-emetics going thru me for about 3 weeks, like Gravol and when that ddint work, even stronger stuff..I was so scared for my baby..but in the end she was fine. Dont worry, do whatever it takes to get better! (hugs)) Vicki--mommy of 4 -
Wednesday, 28 Jan Don't beat yourself up hun. You're doing this for the health of you and the baby. If the babies don't get proper nutrients they won't grow right and you're making sure they do! Good luck hun!!! ~ I luv my boyz ~ -
Wednesday, 28 Jan Try to eat and drink but if you cant always do that plz dont beat yourself up they say inthe first trimester they dont demand much extra calories b/c they live of of your stored nutrients the only problem is it will rid you of your extra vitamins/minerals...but your babies will not suffer......im so happy that your m/s is getting better and dont feel bad for taking declectin (spelling) theres mothers out there that im sure are taking worse things.......... beckybear -
Wednesday, 28 Jan Don't feel bad. Taking the meds is better than constantly ending up in the hospital for dehydration and putting your babies at risk. christinesc -
