27-2-2009 - NT SCAN

The womb-mates are doing incredibly well. Okay so far they are perfect!! They measured 1.2 and 1.6 on the nuchal fold.....so very very healthy and avery low chance of having any chromosonal or abnormalities. The heart is perfect. The beats were 158 and 168. Both were very active, clapping , kicking, baby A even looked over at mom and dad! The tech said it was WAYYYY to early (just her) to let us know the gender-bah humbug....its okay, My OB just told me that I will come back in four weeks then every two weeks after that, and EVERY appointment I will have an ultrasound!!!!!! The anatomy scan will be week 19-so 6 weeks from now. They can actually monitor whether or not my body is showing signs of pre-term labour (thinning of the uterine lining) like when a balloon stretches-if it gets thin too quick then its BEDREST! One very very unfortunate thing, is sexual intercourse is NOT recomended with twins, as you dont want to induce labour. So he said maybe between weeks 13-16 it might be ok just a few times (he was certainly not that reassuring)

This IS really happening! Wow *tear*

Very wonderful news!! I'm so glad the babies are doing well.. hubby I'm sure isn't so thrilled with the no sex but he'll be thankful he has healthy babies!! HUGS

WOW> that is great news! Glad they are growing well, and even if no BD'ing, will be worth it after babies are here...although you might not even have time for much BD'ing then...lol. Hadn't heard of that before, but sure you'll be OK. Can't wait to hear the gender...hoping time flies for that, and that babies show...lol. Take care and keep growing! :)

They should be able to tell the gender as early as 15 or 16 weeks, so it won't be too much longer!

That's great hun! I'm so excited for you!! I loved my NT scan, it was so much more clearer than the regular scans I got done at the doctors office. Do you have pictures of the little bebes? You should post them. Awwww yay two very healthy & growing babies! That's such a blessing!!

I'm so glad the twins are doing well. It must be exciting to see the babies everytime you have an appointment. I know the wait in between is nerve wracking though. Take care hun!!
