07-4-2009 - Anatomy scan

My mood while writing this blog: thrilled

18 weeks 3 days. We just completed our gross anatomy scan. All is PERFECT! everything is accounted for, all systems are in place. Both babies are measuring exactly to the day. They have found a comfy (for them) position with thier heads down in my pelvis, and feet u in the ribs. Baby A -our daughter-is still very complacent and calm, she just lies around relaxing all the time. baby B -our son- much more aggressive....he is a womb bully-constantly kicking, stretching moving.

The babies are fraternal-so they are separated by a membrane, they know each other are there, and today at the scan then where touching hands against the membrane-it was so touching.

My husband did not go to this appt, as with twins they are at least an hour in length which he is not allowed in the room for, so its anxious for him, so when I called him with the results....he said.......wow this is really happening........I think him as I, have JUST taken a huge breath of relief that I am in fact pregnant, and that we are going to be parents again....boy has it been a journey of the mind to get to this place......and you know what, I AM EXCITED.......FINALLY!!!! My skepticism has dropped 90%, and I might start looking into maybe picking colors and furniture for the nursery soon....My next appt is 2 weeks from now, when we sill start measuring my uterus-to monitor the thickness to see if I will require bed rest or not ( I HOPE NOT) Until then, Im looking forward to feeling them soon, as I only feel light movements here and there, the tech said with my sons movements it should be very soon, and that my husband should start to feel them from the outside round week 22-23.

Yah! How fantatstic! I'm glad you're finally excited and ready to plan the nursery! Good luck...I think it'd be hard to do something for twins...that are of opposite sex! 1/2 the room can be pink, the other 1/2 blue =) Perfect! Have fun!
