My mood while writing this blog: Over the moon |
Hey ladies!!!
First off let me say that my husband at 4 am in the morning edited my profile as I knew lots of you were waiting.....well the poor fella put in 2 girls! Yes I saw you were confused. We did in fact have a Boy and a Girl.......I am just having trouble changing it. So no, Grayson didnt turn out to be a girl..he is VERY WELL a boy.
All went well-not textbook but well-They were out from beginning of surgery in one hour-my GD left me imediatley, but it took about 7 hours for it too be cleared from them, so we stayed in recovery a bit longer. My section was a pretty aggressive labour-I am a small girl and had them really wedged in tightly, so some aggressive pushing , kneading and prodding was required, that has left me in pain which require some light narcotics for the severe discomfort. My section is great , much easier than the first, I got stapled, my scar has already adhered-and I am walking lifting, sleeping on my back and sides no problem. I am NOT breast feeding and for 2 days have been very painfully engorged, I have tensor bandaged my chest and it should be breaking down over the next 12 hours-I hope.
Kendall came out first, she is the big sister, although the little one-as of this morning she is a whopping 4 pounds 8 ounces, Grayson 5 pounds 12 ounces-both have been gaining weight since day 2- You would never know there are 2 additional babies in the house-they do not make a sound!! they do not cry when they are hungry, I have to wake them to eat. I only know they are awake because I see thier little arms in the air, and they just stare at the ceiling.
Thanks so much for your messages, they brought me to tears in the hospital when my husband went online for me-he saw why you are all so very very special to me -and was touched at all your words.
LASTLY-it is so so so nice to have closure in this TTC journey-it was a long and tough one, painfull emotionally , mentally and physically, and all of that has -well-worked out in the end in laymens terms. I do not ever nor will take having a baby for granted, I look at all pregnancies and births as miracles, and feel parenting is a privlidge not a right. I have learned I will never ask a woman if she is .....going to give her son another sister or brother, or wether or not they are trying or thinking of having kids. i will never judge nor be jealous of someones success, what I do hope, is that my open mindedness to my own fertility journey and self education in it can help someone else even just one get through this crazy thing called TTC!
Much love and a warm embrace to all of you,
Melanie

I remember talking with you back and forth when I first found out I was pregnant with Asher and it broke my heart we couldn't experience it together -- but it definately warms my heart now knowing you have two AMAZING little miracles.
