22-1-2009 - Hospital Bag List

My mood while writing this blog: wondering where ill find a bag big enough!!

Hey ladies , my midwife gave me this list of things i need to bring to the hospital the other day and thought it might help if your not sure what to bring or havent been given a list :)

For Mother :

• One old nigthdress for labour and delivery
• 3-4 nightdresses or pjs
• Disposable pants or old panties
• Dressing gown
• Slippers
• Support bras
• Box of breast pads
• Face cloths
• Towels
• Shower cap
• Toiletries
• 3-4 packs of maternity pads (night time or supersize)
• A v shaped pillow if you intend to breastfeed ( useful but not essential)
• Change for phone cards, newspapers etc.

For Baby

• 1 packet of nappies size 3-5kg
• Roll of cotton wool
• Bath towels or square baby towels
• 4-6 vests
• 4-6 babygrows
• Bibs
• Baby hat (1-2)
• Baby socks and mittens
• Baby cardigan(s)
• 2 cot sheets
• 2 baby blankets
• Baby brush and comb

It seems like alot but i supppose it depends on how long you will be there for, i was suprised to be told i have to bring my own baby sheets and blankets for the cot though !!
