12-1-2010 - Anaesthetist appointment

Okay so this morning i went for my appointment at the hospital to see and anaesthetist i had to because of my high BMI he was talking about an epidural saying they would advise me to have one as soon as my labour starts just incase i need to be rushed in for a c-section....... obviously it is still my decision whether to have one or not but im really not keen on having one! i mean there is no complications with my pregnancy im healthy just a lil chubby... but in the leaflet they gave me about pain relief and epidurals it says you can have Spinal injection which is the most commonly used method for emergency or planned caesaren so if i do need to have a c-section i can just have the spinal injection instead of the epidural???

are any of you ladies having the same problem with high BMI and being told its best to have a epidural???
