04-10-2008 - Sugar pee !!

Hi all !

Well I went for my 32 week check up on thursday and was found to have a trace of sugar in my urine ! Oh god I thought thinking gestational diabeties has reared its ugly head ! And panic I did a little at the thought of a huge baby making its way through my birth canal ! OUCH! Anyway doc reasured me and said that it was only a trace and what I needed to do was watch what I eat a bit more cut down on carbs and eat less snacky type foods ( Bang goes my craving for mars bars then !!) and we will see how it is at my next appointment in 2 weeks ! She said it doesnt definately mean that it could turn to diabeties just that I need to be a bit more sensible about what I am eating . Well I know this baby is not going to be a small one as my midwife and doc have said all along since they started measuring me that its growing well and is certainly not small I just hope its not going to grow too big ! Nothing over 9lb please !!!!!! I had a friend whos baby was 11lb 2 OUCH OUCH OUCH !

I suppose one thing is , is that I may get to have another scan to look at his growth which for me would be fantastic as i would love to see him again and if he is growing pretty large I may be induced a couple of weeks early which would be fab ! It would mean I only have 5 weeks and 6 days left not 7 weeks and 6 days which sounds so much better considering I have quite had enough already !!!! Just me hoping I suppose hee hee !

I have just been shopping and picked up some more bits I need for my hospital bag I think I am nearly there now . I have tried to get bits of things each time I have been shopping ! Picked up 2 nightdresses dirt cheap in asda so ive got one for the birth and one to wear after ! I am hoping that I only have to stay in for one night all being well but we will see ! I think the only things I need to get now are breast pads and paper kickers ! Yes paper knickers ! I know they dont sound too fantastic but for those first few days they are fab as u can just tear them off and chuck them away I swore by them when I had my first son and it saves messing up your own knickers !

Right time for a nap before I do the housework !!!
