02-3-2009 - Bad Day stressedMy mood while writing this blog:
stressed

Today has been a realy bad day ! Cody has not been taking his bottles well just bits here and there and has screamed when I have tried to feed him . He has not been hot or sleepy or anything just refusing his feeds and its been so hard not to make it a battle of wills !

Recently he has not been so interested in his mid morning bottle so I was thinking of maybe starting him on a couple of spoons of baby rice at breakfast and then leaving him longer till his next feed , then giving him baby rice again with his tea-time bottle , so cutting out the mid morning one but making sure he has that bit extra through having the baby rice at first bottle and next to last bottle .

What does everyone think ?

My eldest was virtually weened by now at 15 weeks as he was a hungry baby , cody has seemed satisfied longer , he seems to be hungry but then refusing the milk so i am a little confused . I suppose they are all different but i dont want to cut out that mid morning bottle without making sure he has had enough. I know I could just wait longer to feed him but then all his bottles will be late and he is absolutely shattered by 7.30 and if i dont get his last bottle down him then he just wont take it !

I suppose the only thing to do is try it and see if it works for him .

Emma Reed is the baby rice still working for caiden??

Think I am going to start tomorrow and see what happens !

Would love to hear from any of you that have started your babies on some form of solid now xx

ElliottnDeclans-mummy - Tuesday, 3 Mar
We started Elliott on solids a few weeks back. It had been going great and by the end of last week he was draining 7oz bottles and taking solids twice a day and his sleeping had hugely improved. But the past couple of days have been a nightmare, we are lucky to get 3oz down him per bottle and he shows next to no interest in his 2nd solid helping of the day. Like Cody he cries for the bottle then barely takes anything. It took nearly an hour for him to have 5oz today!
I'm hoping it's just a phase as things were going so well.
If you find a solution let me know, I was close to tearing my hair out today. xx

I've not started Ryan on solids yet he's only just taking 5oz bottles but we've had a battle of wills with his feeding since day 1, if he's not hungry he won't eat and still hasn't got a day pattern yet everytime I think we've cracked it he goes and changes, I'm hoping to start weening him at 17 weeks so when I go back to work he'll be on solids at nursery, do you have to wait until they show signs of not being satisfied by the bottle or can you just start anyway? I hope Cody was just having a off day and is better today. xx
