29-4-2009 - worried about the swine flu

My mood while writing this blog:
worried

ok ladies i'm worried about the swine flu or flu for that matter since some ppl around me are exposed to hundreds of ppl all day. i need to know from the ladies who have the flu or had it recently what symptoms you felt in the beggining like being tired or headaches and what not. i do have my obgyn appointment tomorrow so i will also voice my concern with her but i woul like to know beforehand what exactly to look for in the first stage. (sorry if i'm being a worry wart but i want to do anything possible to keep my baby boy healthy)

Don't feel silly for worrying about this Swine Flu. I broke down crying last night from worrying about it so much. Then, upon getting to work this morning (teacher) I get the news that there is another case in Corpus and a high school is closed down. We get an update in an hour. I hope they close all the schools. I want to be home and not around all these sick people. Please let me know what your dr. says. I know all about the good hygine techniques but want to know what to do if we get this sh*t!!! Sorry, I'm just tired of being worried for the health of my baby and want this to be over!

Hi, I am worried about it too. Preggies cannot take the drugs to fight the infection. I think the symptoms are exactly the same as seasonal flu with sickness and diarreah (sp?) added in the mix.

I have been feeling fine, but I saw my OB today and asked him about the swine flu. He told me it was being hyped up by the media and that as long as we avoid direct contact with sick people and practice good hand washing techniques we should be just fine. Hope that helps you get some sleep =)
