18-5-2009 - not feeling supported

My mood while writing this blog: frusterated

i need to vent. my mother in law doesn't seem to be very supportive when i told her that on my delivery day that i wanted to try out the medicine ball to use it as a pain relief and to help the baby down the birth canal and that in the beggining of the 3rd trimester or middle of it that i want to take birthing classes. she basically said 'let me tell you something. those medicine balls and those classes ain't gonna help you for shit. first off the baby will come when he wants and secondly everything you learn in those classes you'll forget wtih the pain and 3rd you won't want to be on that ball when you feel the pain.' i got upset and just stopped talking about what i want to do with my birth and i don't want her in the delivery room if she isn't going to be supportive with my choice, i need ppl who will be there for me and nto give me their stupid comments. it's my choice, my baby, my body! she has had her kids naturally but she never tried out any method except walking and rythmetic breathing. i just want support not opinions especially if someone has never tried those methods they are being negative towards. i'm just so frusterated at the fact that she decided not to support me and just tell me how none of it will help. thanks for listening ladies.

- i haven't told her how i felt when she said all that and i know i'm going to have to since she wants to be there during the birth. like i said i don't want her there if she isn't going to support me.
