06-9-2009 - 37 wk appointment on 9/3 and trip to L&D on 9/4

My mood while writing this blog: happy and dissapointed at the same time.

ok.. i had my 37 wk appointment and everything is fine my blood pressure was 124/67 my strep b test was negative and then she checked my cervix and i was 2.5 centimeters dilated and she said my cervix was softening up which totally made me happy and excited. the next day while i was at the office working i thought my water broke cuz i was trickling something clearish white so i called by obgyn office and the nurse said to go to L&D so i did. while i was there they did a swab test to make sure it was amniotic fluid and checked me again and put the monitors on and what not. at this point i'm still 2.5 centimeters dilated and i'm 60% effaced and the baby is in -2 station. this is the dissapointing part... she comes back and she tells me it's not the amniotic fluid but that i am having contractions every 7-10 min apart and she also tells me that they're gonna keep me for another hr or so to make sure the baby is fine. first off she wants him awake so she gives me some snacks, 20 min later he still is sleeping so she puts a buzzer on my belly and the baby kickes me hard and his poor heartbeat went off the chart for a second, so now he's awake having fun and then the nurse comes back in about 40 min later and tells me that i'm being discharged that my contractions aren't hard enough to keep me. so that was my very happy dissapointing day... i was ready to have him by this weekend in my arms and in his bassinet :(.
