24-11-2008 - hmmm

My mood while writing this blog: Okayish.

I had baby clinic today, was a little upset because Olivia has only put on one ounce. which has brought her down on her growth chart. I told the health visitor how she doesnt seems to want to feed on me for very long. and how yesterday she was awake all day pretty much. she had one nap for 2hrs and two 20min naps, which is not like her. She slept from half 11 til 7 though. and today she has slept well, the wonders of being able to go for walks, couldnt give it ago yesterday because of the terrible weather.

The health visitor has told me to give her 2oz of formula after each feed, to try and get her weight back up, i mentioned how she kept being sick, she has also sed to keep my eye on that and next week when i go back, she her weight isnt back up and she is still being sick, we will get a dr to talk a look at her.

I was a bit worried about giving her formula, but yesterday i expressed some milk i have her that after she had been on my breast and she tuk it really well. I come to give her the breast again and she seemed a little uninterested, but i realised she had a dirty nappy with out me realising she had done it - always the way put a clean nappy on and she dirtys it right away - i gave her the formula and she tuk it fine, gave me a funny look at first as though she was saying "mom this doesnt taste right!"

After wanting to bottle feed last week, this week i wanted to carry on breastfeeding but if the extra formula doesnt help, then we will have to consider bottle feeding completely, not that i want to, want to keep her on breast milk as long as i can atm anyways.

I want to do what is best for my little girl, i guess we will get there soon, her health is the most important thing and i will do what is best for her.

other than that little worry everything is going well, had a difficult day yesterday as she wouldnt sleep and she didnt want anyone other than me, i barely stole time to eat and shower, luckly my mom was at hand to comfort her when i needed to do things.

I was so happy this morning when i managed to find some of her 0-3 month clothes that fit her and didnt hang off her! She looks so cute. nice to see her in proper clothes rather than sleepsuits all the time.
