27-11-2008 - worse night

My mood while writing this blog: cold but excited.

So last night was probably the worse night I've had since having Olivia.

I don't know whats happened to change her little routine but it has changed. lol. usually she goes down around half 11/half 12. somewhere in between. and gets up some where between half 5 and 7. past few nights she has been waking around 3 and 4. Thankfully she just feeds and goes back to sleep.

My health visitor has told me to top her up with formula due to lack of weight gain. so i've been doing that since monday. Monday night she slept fine. Just tuesday and wednesday shes been getting up, but she just seems so unsettled, Rather than feeding 6 times a day she is feeding 7 or 8 times. and i'm giving two ounces of formula afterwards. although it is not all the time she will take it. especially before bed. When i guess would be the best time for her to have it.

Getting up at 3 last night with Olivia wasn't what made it bad i didn't mind that at all. She went straight down after her feed at half 10 so she was in bed at 11. She fell asleep on me i couldnt get her to feed from me or take her little bottle. I couldnt fall asleep at first because usually she has me out of bed after i've put her down. once i got to sleep i was woke up at two because my older brother had been in bad pain all night finally after hours of telling him to go to the hospital at 2 in the morning my dad took him. so i was awak for a while worrying about him. then once i got back to sleep Olivia had me up again. Then after feeding her i made a drink waited for her to go bak to sleep. and tried to get a little more sleep. But wasnt able to sleep properly through worrying bout my brother. Turns out what i said as soon as he told me about the pain was right, his currently waiting to get his appendix taken out. but they wasnt 100% sure at first so we worrying about what it could have been. i haven't been able to go and see him because when my mom n dad left to go Olivia was still feeding.

I really don't know what has unsettled Olivia. I think it may be the bottle feeding, but surely if its just giving her more to eat it shouldnt be gettin her up in the middle of the night. or mayb thats it she wasnt getting enough before? or shes just gotten more hungry? I know babies have a growth spurt at around 6 weeks but she is only 5 weeks on this coming saturday? but the main thing is she still seems happy some of the time.

Although i still do not think she has put on weight. i could feel before when she had put on the weight, but i still dont think that shes putting any on. and she is still be sick a lot, during and after feeds. literally puddles of sick on the floor. i guess i will just have to wait and see what the health visitor says on monday, and see if we need to see a dr. :(. just stickng at what ive been told to do. i really hope it is the best for my little girl.
