| 08-10-2009 - 36 weeks: good news & not so good news | My mood while writing this blog:tired |
The great news: Henry is looking and sounding great! Heartrate was between 130-140, Dr estimates he weighs 6 1/2 lb plus right now. I gained 1/2 lb in 1 week (don't know HOW that's possible, but yay!). I am dilated 2 cm and 50% effaced already! Dr says I could go fast, but I'm not sure what to think because I was 2 cm/50% with James (my 14 month old) for like a month before I had him, so we'll see.
The not so good news: I am + for GBS again, so I will need the IV. Since I am allergic to pennicillin, I have to have an alternative drug, which takes longer to work through your system. (Pen takes 4 hrs, whereas the alternative takes 8 hrs). So she said if I think I'm in labor, don't even call but just go straight to the hospital. If I don't get the full dose before Henry is born, then they will want to monitor him for 48 hrs
I think I mentioned last time that James (my 1 year old) won't be allowed in the hospital, so it'll REALLY suck to be stuck there for an extra day. Sooooo... I have been hoping to have a quick labor and be able to labor a little at home before we go in, but now I just want to get there right away, just in case. A little stressful, BUT I know it'll be OK. Worse case scenario: we have to stay an extra day and James will get to have more fun with grandma & grandpa. I really think he'll enjoy that, but I know I won't. Anyways, thanks for listening. :)
