| 29-5-2009 - Terrible 16wk 3D u/s Experience |
My mood while writing this blog: Ok |
Although I have now finally recovered enough to write this, I still have the lingering yuck enough to spit this out. We decided last minute to go for a private u/s to get gender. We didn't tell anyone, except for my sister and my mom who came with us (happened to be in town). The tech spent the entire u/s trying to up-sell us on more packages and CDs and teddy bears with heart beat sounds. It was such BS! She completely ruined the experience. At one point the baby was not in the proper position to check for gender so she jabbed it in the chest with the ultrasound wand. I was in shock. Horrified. I am so ashamed that I did not jump up and defend my babies and yell at the wench then and there. I said "if you need the baby to reposition I will get up and move around." She said "no, that worked. Baby moved" Yes because you just inflicted baby's first injury you idiot!
She did not find out the genders. She gave us no information about their sizes, weights, or placental locations. I cried for at least two hours last night. Then woke up to go pee in the night and couldn't stop thinking about it and starting crying again. Couldn't sleep and just greived with disappointment. Bleh. I haven't really cried this pregnancy, I guess I have been too busy or something. This more than made up for that. I think I drained enough fluids through my eyes that I didn't have any more pee the rest of the night.
I want my money back. I want my evening back. I want to apologize to my family for dragging them through that. I want my hope of a beautiful experience back.Yuck

Wednesday, 3 Jun They proded my (now 10 mo old) son when I went in for his 20 week u/s. I was so mad at the tech! He still wouldn't budge so finally she let me go pee (because they made me drink sooo much water first) and what do ya know, that freed up enough space for him to stretch out! They better not try that this time. baby[bump]mama -

Saturday, 30 May OMG thats awful, You should call and talk to whomever is in charge at that facility and either get your money back or another u/s. People can be so rude and insensitive. And how dare she jabe at your baby, I hope she didnt do any harm to him/her. That should have been a wonderful experience for both you and your family. mrsscorpio -
