| 24-6-2008 - Update and Registry Info | My mood while writing this blog:Okay |
Hello Mommies! I wanted to give you all a little update on us! First off, I am finally starting to heal from my C-section ordeal. I don't know if all of you know, but after my C-section I got a horrible infection. I was admitted into the hospital where they drained a whole pound of infection from me. After that, they left the wound open, and I had home health care nurses come to my house 2x per day to pack gauze into it and clean it. Then they did a wound culture and found out all along I've had a Staph Infection. So I'm on high powered antibiotics for that. Anyway, long story short, the nurses only come once every other day to check on it. I have been changing the gauze and stuff myself now because it's healed that good. So they're saying in about another week or two it will be healed and I'll finally be back to normal!
Baby Tony is doing very well! He's such a good baby! He's up to eating 6oz of formula with 1 teaspoon of rice cereal in his bottle every 4 hours. Last week at his doctor's appointment he weighed 10lbs 12oz, so he's growing really well. He really loves being in his swing! We have the Fisher Price Rainforest Open Top Cradle one, and he'll stay in that thing for hours looking at the mobile and just swinging away. Alot of times he'll even fall asleep in there! However, he HATES tummy time. I don't know why, but he cries the whole time. Nonetheless, I'll leave him there for just a few minutes to let him practice raising his head and trying to roll onto his back, then he's done. He also love riding in the car. He has never cried once while being in there! I'm very fortunate to have a baby that only cries when something is wrong, i.e.- hungry, wet, sleepy, etc. I've seen babies cry for no reason, but he's not one of them. When he's happy, he's got his eyes wide open and looks around at everything very contently. He's begun smiling and laughing outloud too! It's the sweetest thing.
Alyssa is also doing great. She just finished up Kindergarten, and will start 1st grade in the Fall. Hard to believe my little girl is growing up this fast! She's at Myrtle Beach with my Parents until Sunday, so I know she's having a blast with her first trip to the Beach. She's been having fun going to her 4H meetings, as well as bridging from a Daisy to a Brownie in Girl Scouts. Soccer season is over until Fall, so she's a little bummed about that. But we've been going to some awesome programs at our Library, so she'll have plenty to do.
Lastly, a few of you have asked me if I have a Registry for Baby Tony. I do have one at Babies R Us, so feel free to check that out if you'd like. You can search by my name, Shara Dean, or the registry number is 65588041. I hope all you lovely mommies are enjoying your new babies, and may we all feel truly blessed :)
