A BOY!!!!
I almost can't believe it. My husband always thought he'd only be able to have girls - something about the high powered equipment he used to work on in the Navy (I don't know where he gets this stuff). But now that I do know it's a boy, I guess I had been feeling pretty strongly that it was a girl, because I was really surprised to see the goods. Guess my intuition is pretty off too chellechelle. lol.
But we are thrilled! The ultrasound was so much fun! We were in there for like half an hour. I had to pee pretty bad when I first got there, but luckily my bladder only needed to be full for the first few minutes for the tech to get a look at my lower uterus. Then she let me run to the bathroom, and when I came back Paul and I had fun looking at stuff and trying to guess what we were actually seeing while she was taking measurements. The little guy had his knees together at the beginning - but then he adjusted. I had seen enough pictures of ultrasounds through this site and others that when I saw between his legs - I knew before she said so that our baby is a boy. I'm going to put up some pictures in just a bit.
Other than that - the tech said things are looking good. My placenta is nowhere near my cervix (so that's good). She said his heartbeat was 146. And that he's 1 lb. 1 oz!! Awww. I feel so proud of my little guy growing so well. :) (His mama on the other hand has gained 13 pounds to his 1! yikes!) The only thing was - he wasn't turned in a great position for her to get a good look at the heart and to see the four chambers and everything - so they'll let me know if I need to go back in for another ultrasound. Which of course, I wouldn't mind at all. Oh and they gave me pre-registration paperwork at the OBs today to send to the hospital. I thought it was early for that - but they've been in the business way longer than I have, so I'll take their word for it.
So now - registering and finalizing a name. I can't wait. My in-laws are going to be thrilled as well. This will be their first grandson. They have three other grand-daughters.
*sigh* I'm going to have a son. It's kinda hard for me to wrap my brain around right now. It feels almost surreal, but I am so over the moon!
Thanks for all your well wishes ladies! You are all so great!!
