12-8-2009 - 28 weeks (29 tomorrow)

My mood while writing this blog:
excited

So I had my 28 week appointment yesterday. It was fairly uneventful and pretty quick, but considering I start going every 2 weeks now, I have a feeling they'll be like that more often.

Eli's heartbeat was 145 bpm. And the doctor said I was measuring right on target for 28 weeks. I mentioned to the doctor that I thought he was still lying across my belly, but after some prodding, he said nope - his head is down now! I wouldn't have agreed with him a couple days ago, but now when I feel movement it's at the top or bottom center of my stomach. And boy has he been active in the past couple of days! Although the movements are different now...there are still kicks, but now there's also body parts sliding across my insides. Which is both the coolest and the weirdest feeling ever!

I swear - some of these doctors must go through special courses to deal with pregnant women. The one I had yesterday told me all my weight was in my belly and that I looked great. Which is just what I needed to hear. So I go back on the 25th, and then 2 more weeks after that I get to see my little guy again and see if the hydronephrosis has cleared up or not. (I'm crossing my fingers that it has)

Thankfully I'm out of the funk I was in last week - and I'm feeling much happier this week. (Thank you all you wonderful ladies who commented on my last blog). It's just so nice to know I'm not alone in my craziness. : )

And I'm so excited for this evening! Back in January my boss gave me a gift certificate to a nearby spa for my birthday - and I have yet to use it - but I'm going to redeem it tonight after work. I'm getting a pregnancy massage and a manicure! Yay! It's going to be sooo nice to have a little "me" time, where I can just sit back and relax. And then after I'm all refreshed, my sisters and I are going to the movies. It's been forever since I've seen a movie in the theater...and I'm guessing after Eli gets here, I won't be going any time soon after that either. So this will be fun.

I'm glad you're feeling better! And I hope you are loving the pregnancy massage and manicure, it's a good time for it! I can't wait to hear how Eli is doing after that ultrasound!

I am glad to hear your appointment went well yesterday! Eli is head down- that's great and lets hope he stays that way! Glad you are feeling better about the whole weight issue. It is hard when you really have no control over your body, but blame it on Eli... he's the one packing on the baby fat, LOL! So you get another U/S in 4 weeks is it? You've got to let us know how Eli is doing, I'm sure things have cleared up! Have fun tonight! A pregnancy massage sounds oh, so nice! I had my first massage in Feb. and would love one right now! Enjoy Girl! OXXO

The massage sounds wonderful! My hubby got me a gift certificate for one for my b-day last month, but I haven't used it yet. My little one's been moving like CRAZY today - more than ever before. I'm not sure why. At first it was charming and fun, but after a few hours it's starting to make me a little sick to my stomach - like motion sickness sort of. I hope he/she sleeps soon for awhile! I was starting to think I had a really mellow babe in there, but now I'm not so sure! :) Have a GREAT time tonight! You definitely deserve "me" time!
