06-4-2009 - We're having a BOY!

My mood while writing this blog: Thrilled!!!

Today I had my big ultrasound! We went in and having to hold my urine for all that time was killer! But totally worth it let me tell you!

We went into the room and as soon as the tech put the thing on my belly we heard a heartbeat and saw our little one going crazy! She actually had trouble getting pictures of him because he would bend his legs and let his bottom slide down near his ankles and then straighten his legs really fast and launch himself across my uterus! I couldn't stop laughing because it was just so funny and cute! It took a while for the tech to get all her needed measurements and pictures so then it was time to see what we're having...the big moment!

And just then he flips over on his belly, crosses his legs over his bottom, and falls asleep! So we couldn't see his little area! The tech had me get up and use the bathroom and walk around in hopes the baby would wake up...no such luck! So she had me turn on my side and poke at my tummy a little to wake him up and finally he starts moving around a little and streching out his legs.

She got a between the legs shot and there it was! Proof of our little baby boy! Haha. I was really nervous because it didn't look quite like some other pictures I've seen but she said more than 95% sure it's a boy. Plus she said most times it's wrong is because the cord is through the legs and in our case it was near his legs but not through them so there you have it!

We had already chosen a name which is Jackson (Jack for short) Eric. My husband and I really like boy's boy type names like Jack but I loved Jackson. And Eric is my husband's and my dad's name and it's also my father in law's middle name.
