24-7-2009 - 34 week appointment and other fun stuff!

My mood while writing this blog: cotent :)

So most of you probably know that this past week I ended up losing my mucous plug. I've been working full time up until last week, which ended up putting things in motion a little early. He dropped back around 28 or 30 weeks. My midwife and my aunt (who was a birthing coach for a long time) both thought he dropped so early due to the low and lamaze like position of a pedicure stool since I was still doing like 7 or 8 a day.

Now about my appointment! I'm not dialated yet but his head is engaged and she could feel his head was right there. She told me to not over do it because he should really stay put another 2 weeks but that it's very, very unlikely that I'll go more than 4 more weeks. I'M SO EXCITED!!! Haha.

My last day of work is tomorrow and surprisingly, they were great about me leaving and said if I ever want a job that I can come back. So that went waaaay better than planned! Haha.

Wednesday I worked and then ran to the store to buy a few things I needed to pack in my hospital bag like a nursing bra, pads, etc. Well, I had ended up having a kind of stressful day at work and then walking around the store, I started getting contractions. Painful ones too! Like a shooting pain in my back and alot of tightness wrapped right around my belly. And I had like 3 of them in a row! So I rushed right to the checkout and got home to determine if I was in labor. I sat down and put my feet up and drank ALOT of water. They continued but they were less painful and then stopped. But since I had that happen I figured I should put the car seat in my car and pack my bag. His stuff is all ready so I didn't have to worry about that.

I'm just sooo glad my last day is tomorrow. Eric and I are going to see L&D at the hospital next week and Monday I have maternity pictures set up so I can always remember my belly. I can't wait!

And oh yeah! I had my baby shower this past weekend! It was sooo fun and we got almost everything off our registry. And the few things we didn't get, we were able to get with all the cash and giftcards we gpot. We ended up with about $400 in cards and cash and some really great gifts!!! My parents got us a bunch of clothes and nursing supplies (haha) and the stroller/car seat/carrier combo we wanted. My in-laws got us some little rattles, a few outfits, and a 10 megapixel digital camera! My camera is ok and does take decent pictures but this one is amazing!
