| 03-9-2009 - So much going on! | My mood while writing this blog:Happyyyy |
OK! Haha. So Tuesday night I started not feeling too great. My tummy was off and I was crampy. I tried to sleep but no such luck! I was up the majority of the night and around 2am I started contractions every 15 minutes. I drank some warm tea and finally got a few hours (maybe 3...MAYBE.) of sleep.
As soon as I woke up, I knew I was still contracting and after timing a few, they were about 8-10 minutes apart. I called my midwife because they were getting stronger and she said to call back when they were about 5 minutes apart for an hour. I called her back about an hour and 20 minutes later because they were all 4-5 minutes apart. She was working at an office about 20 minutes away that day so she gave me the option of coming into that office and seeing her or I could go straight to L&D and see where I'm at. I opted to go see her because I didn't want to end up sitting in the hospital if it wasn't anything serious.
Eric and I got right in the car and headed over to her office and while in the car, my contractions got harder and more intense. By the time we got in there, I was having to stop whenever I had one. She checked me and I was dilated about 2 cm and 90% effaced. An improvement from Friday when I was only 1 cm dilated and 80% effaced but not too much. She could feel his head and the membranes around it so she did a membrane sweep in hopes it would move things along especially since I had already lost my plug, his head is engaged, and I'm already starting to dilate and almost completely effaced. She monitored me for about an hour and my contractions were off the charts. Yikes. We decided not to go to the hospital since we could be there for awhile seeing as how I wasn't dilated too far.
I finally slept though and it was the BEST sleep I've had in a while! When I woke up this morning, my midwife called and asked if I wanted to come in and get checked again and if I was still having contractions. I said sure and that I was. So she said to come in whenever we wanted and she'd fit me in.
We went in and she checked me this morning and I was dilated to 3 cm. She could still feel some of the membranes around his head so she cleared it out and said that things are definitely progressing now. Once I'm dilated to 4 cm, then we'll go into L&D. So one more cm to go! I get checked again tomorrow and I'm really hoping I'll be at 4 cm because My husband will be off from work until Tuesday so he'd have alot of time to spend with me and Jackson.
So tonight I'm going for a walk and then when Eric gets home we'll BD to maybe get things going!
:)
