15-10-2009 - Jackson's first month

My mood while writing this blog: Happy

Well my little punkin is now a month old! The time flies by much too quickly. As of today he is 22.25" long and 10lbs 13.5oz. He's in the 75th percentile for both.

He's such a little blessing to us. Eric is a great daddy and loves our little man more than anything. Every night he's at work, I get a text saying that he misses me and wants to come home and hold Jackson. And as soon as he walks in the door he goes and puts on some comfy clothes and then takes Jackson and kisses all over his face haha.

Jackson is a great sleeper too! Eric works 2:30pm-11pm so we stay up til 11:30pm or so and then I nurse him for a while and we all go to bed. Jackson wakes up between 3am and 4am every night and as soon as he starts moving around and waking up, Eric jumps out of bed and starts heating up his bottle (of breastmilk) so it's already warm by the time I get up and grab and change Jack. Eric loves feeding him so he gives him the bottle and I sit next to him and pump off my milk. It's kind of fun because we talk and we're never crabby or anything to eachother. We laugh and joke and I know Eric loves to have that bonding time with him since I nurse him every other time he eats. Then as soon as we're all done, we hurry and go back to bed so we can get some sleep haha. Jack wakes up again around 7am but doesn't usually eat too much. It's like a snack for him or something. At 9am we're up for the day!

During the day he'll usually nap every other time after he eats. I'm able to put him in his swing or bassinet or crib for short periods of time throughout the day now so I can get some stuff done which is awesome! And when we have lazy days he and I will usually take a little nap together. Even though he'll sleep in the bassinet, I just love spending time snuggling him sometimes. I'll opt to hold him and sit on the couch with a blanket just so I can cuddle his cute little self. He'll only be this small once and I don't wanna look back and regret that I didn't spend enough time with him.

Eric's last day of work is the beginning of November but I'm not as stressed as I was. Today we got approved for WIC and they gave me info about ChildHealth Plus insurance for Jackson and they also told us about this program that will give you a free or reduced price convertible car seat for when he grows out of the carrier type infant one. So that was amazing news as well!

As for me, I've been feeling great although I never really felt bad after having him. I was so frustrated after the first week of being home because I felt trapped. Now I take him to my parents or in-laws once in a while and we go and walk around the mall sometimes on the weekends. I feel like I'm all healed and I've lost even more than I gained during my pregnancy. I gained 28lbs and so far I've lost 34lbs. I can't wait for my 6 week check up so we can have sex again haha. Hopefully everything will be fine. I'm also hoping to get a diaphragm for birthcontrol since it's a one time cost whereas the pill is monthly and our insurance will end after Eric's work closes. Plus I don't want to go on anything hormonal.
