07-8-2008 - 12 week scan - 7th August 2008

My mood while writing this blog: Happy

I am very pleased to say that my 12 week scan went great....It was at 4.15pm and I had to get changed into a gown and stuff (felt so weird) and the Doctor saw me at about 4.30pm (that felt like the longest wait EVER)

I had been having weird thoughts and dreams about the baby and me having a m/c...so I was nervous as hell...anyways as soon as he put the gel on my tummy and turned the screen on...we saw out little baby - who mind you doesnt look so little anymore....The baby was standing on it's head ....so he/she prob think's they are aucditioning for gymnastics! The baby was moving around so much and the Doctor was really good he explained what everything is and what has developed so far (we saw the 2 sides of the brain, the heart, the spinal cord, the hands and feet) IT WAS AMAZING!!! I of course cried and Trav was just smiling and looking at me ....We heard the heart beat - the first two times he baby kept moving around so it was sounding a bit funny but then the baby stop and just relaxed and we heard a strong heart beat of 176bpm...The baby kept jumping up like it was on a tramploine or something - GODS CREATION IS BEAUTIFUL!!! =) The docotor said our baby is gorwing healthy and strong as it should be and is measuring at 6cm - which is just perfect.

After all that the Docotor forgot to put the dvd in to record so we got to see our little baby again (which was great) the dvd came out well and he even gave us two really good photo's!

I had my bloods taken for "downs" about 3 weeks ago and this scan was to go hand in hand with those bloods for my results....I called up first thing this morning and she said my results came back excellent and I am at very low risk (1 in 6200) - you can either be at low or high risk! So praise God everything went excellent!

We showed both our parents the dvd and photo's last ngiht (they were so excited) and we have started to tell people - which we will continue to do over the weekend!
