28-9-2008 - 19 week scan - 26th September 2008

My mood while writing this blog: Excited

Today I had my 19week ultrasound...As soon as the tech turned on the screen and put the gel on my tummy we saw our little baby! The baby looked so big - she checked the brain, heart, lungs, the back of the neck and the arms and legs and said everything looked great....we also saw the baby's little tummy (it was so cute and small) The baby was actually measuring at 19 weeks and 6days and I was 19 weeks and 4days but everything is right on track. We also saw that the eye sockets had formed but she mentioned that the eyes will be closed until about 7months...the baby def has Trav's jaw line and my lip's I think HeHe! We got some pictures (which I will post up) and a dvd! Im a bit shattered because I 4got to ask what the baby's heart rate was and she kept talking "doctor talk" with us - Like half the time we didnt know what she was on about but we saw her pointing to thing's and figuered it out along the way LOL! The baby kepy playing with it's feet (it was so cute) she kept trying to count the fingers and toes but it was all bundled together - just playing with each other LOL...She didnt ask if we wanted to find out the sex so we didnt say anything but when I got in the car Trav said to me did you hear what she said about the baby playing with it's feet?! And I said no and he goes oh check the dvd (he has a dvd player in his car) when it came to the bit where the baby was playing with it's feet...It SOUNDS like she say's something like "She keeps playing with her feet" (I didnt even take notice when we were in the rooms but Trav obviously heard it) LOL we arnt going to take it as anything because we dont know for sure and to be honest dont want to find out either....But she said that she is happy with everything she see's and wished us all the best! I have my 20weeks gyno check up this Thursday so I will have another update then!

On Sunday the 28th we were lying in bed and I could feel the baby moving so I said quietly to Trav "Put your hand on my belly...cause the baby is moving" he has tried to feel the baby move before but it's has only been really soft so he said "Okay tell me when it moves" I didnt even have to say anything because it gave me quite a hard knock - The look on Trav's face was pricless - His jaw was wide open and was just amazed by it LOL - It was so cute! Later that day we went to my Mum's friend place who has all the baby stuff that is basically brand new or near new that she was selling...There was so many things - Clothes (Jump suites and singlets, bibs and socks), Cloth Nappies, Baby Toy's for when just start walking and crawling, Cot, Portacot, Change Table and Bath Table in one, Steraliser, Pram that turn into a stroller, Bottle Warmer, Bouncer, Diper Bag, High Chair, Baby Carier, Rocking Horse, Baby Monitor and so on (just to name a few) all the stuff had prcing on them and they were all pretty cheap so we basically took everything...It was such a blessing because my parents paid for it all - in totally everything came to about $560.00 - I felt so bad that my parents wouldnt let us pay but I take it as a blessing...The only thing she didnt have was a bassinet / car seat and some small nick nack's like - baby lotion and bottles and shampoo and stuff- so I think we are pretty much set....we just need to paint the room and arrange everything nicely! Oh and I think we now have a theme for the room "Teddy Bears" majority of the big things have Teddy Bears on them and the coat and change table is white...So I think we might paint the room a custard yellow and have a teddy bear theme! I am so excited that everything is coming togetehr and I cant wait for the time to pass...The baby is moving around so much now and I have been feeling great (besides getting over being sick) - Cant believe Im at the half way mark *woo hoo*!
