| 07-1-2009 - 34 week check up - 7th January 2009 | My mood while writing this blog:Itchy |
Hey Ladies!
So I had my 34 weeks check up yesturday and my hospital appointment...The baby is 34cm (crown to rump) and the heart beat was 150bpm, my blood pressue was right on track as well - but I cant remember what it was LOL and the baby is beginning yo engage so thats a good sign
He asked me if I had any problems or questions and I mentioned that I was feeling veryyyyyyyy itchy latley (espec at night) - alot around my tummy and boobs and sometimes even my arms and legs and I explained that when I have a shower it burns...He said it's probably nothing - just my skin stretching, or maybe the water is to hot but he wants me to stop using my CoCo Butter Cream (I started getting bad stretch marks at 7months :( but I wasnt itchy up until 3 weeks ago) He made me do a blood test because it might be something to do with my liver? (he said it's nothing bad - but it happens in pregnancy and it's better to be safe than sorry) Is anyone else is having this or had this?! Its like I just wanna scratch all night because it itches so bad :( I go back to see him in 2 weeks - where I will get a scan done and get my results back from the blood test.
We also had our hospital appointment yesturday - Trav came with me for both appointments (which was good), The midwife asked a few questions about the pregnancy and then asked if we had any questions to which I replied ummm yeah "What happens when I go into labour LOL" she laughed and said "Didnt you go for your classes" I just shook my head and said "No" so she went through everything with us - what we need to bring and what the hospital provides, how long I will be in for - depending on viginal (2days) or c-section (4 days), she talked about the labour process and when we should come in, medication and drugs, breastfeeding and so on - it was really good to know all that stuff (Casue I was freaking out about not knowing anything)...We got alot of reading materials! The visiting hours have changed from 2pm - 8pm and they are now 2.30pm - 4.30pm and 7pm - 8pm because that way they can teach Trav and Me what to do with the baby without visitors coming in and out, also the baby rooms in with us at all times and because we are first time parents they try there best to get us a room on our own, with a double bed so Trav can room in as well and we can be a "real family unit" as she said HeHe! We took a tour of the labour room (I had already seen it but Trav hadnt) it was soo cute the whole time we were sitting with the midwife Trav's legs were shaking and when she left the rooms I turned to him and said "Are you freaking out" and he laughed and said "YESSSSSSSSSS" HaHa!
Going to the hopsital yesturday just made it so much more real and in 6 weeks we should have our little munchkin - I cant wait but at the same time am totally freaking out LOL!!!!
Anyways hope all you ladies are doing well, God Bless - Big Hugz and Kisses xo
