My mood while writing this blog: Ok |
I had my Midwife Appointment today, it was a home visit and went well. My BP was in the normal range and Liam's heart beat was around 135. My fundal height was about 39 cm, exactly on target. She says that his head is still floating and not engaged. I think he goes in and out at whim because I definitely feel more pressure at times. I think that depending on what position I'm in; sitting, standing, walking, he moves around to make himself more comfortable.
I still need to wash baby clothes for Liam as well as packing my bag for the hospital, I guess with this being my 3rd pregnancy I haven't had that sense of urgency I did with the first two. Especially since they were 10 and 12 days overdue. My goal for the next two days is to clean this house top to bottom and have everything ready for when he comes. I'm also hoping to fit in a Mani-Pedi and a massage in there too. :)
My due date is next Thursday, and that would be the most perfect time for Liam to be born, as Hubby already has 4 days scheduled off starting Thursday that week, and I would have ready made babysitting on hand if I need it. This weekend not so much. I am in a different boat than most of you in that I'm happy to let little Liam stay inside as long as he needs too, I'm just worried he's going to be a big baby, that I might not be able to deliver naturally. I'm going to miss being pregnant, especially since it is very likely that this will be my last time. :(
I haven't had any contractions yet and depending on my dilation I may get a Stretch and sweep at my 40 week appointment. I haven't had any internal exams yet, so I have no idea whether I've dilated at all, but I'm pretty sure there's nothing going on. I stopped taking the EPO pills, as it was causing sensitivity in my cervix area, and I was worried it was working too well. I think I'm going to start taking them again on Monday, after I get done all the last minute stuff I still need to do. I'm hoping to actually go into labour on my due date or the night before.
It's sooo hot here, it been an incredible 30+ every day this week and no air conditioning! I've had swelling and water retention. I went up to 40 lbs gained because of it! My only other new symptoms so far this week have been loose bowels and increased pelvic/cervix pressure. My hips get incredibly sore every night too, for the past few weeks. I have to change positions a few times a night rolling from side to side to try and relieve the pressure.
Only a few more weeks at most until he's here!

Thursday, 8 Jul The loose bowel movements are a good sign. Generally increased prostaglandins can cause loose bowel movements. Increased prostaglandins, via sperm or natural ripens the cervix for labor.Way to go on being patient on your babies coming out on their own time. Unfortunately that is not the way most women are. If you are concerned about his size. Make sure that you do lots of positions in labor to widen the pelvic outlet. Squats and double hip squeeze to get the baby to descend. Good Luck! You are doing great!
