| 13-6-2008 - 17 weeks update | My mood while writing this blog:Ok |
Sunday, 24 Feb
We had our first us about 3 weeks ago, and everything looks ok so far. I should be going back around the first week of March in my 18th week, to monitor the development, but I'll also get to determine the sex! I'm hoping it's a girl, since we already have a boy. I'm also pretty sure it's a boy, because of my hubby's family history. 12 out of the 13 babies in the last 2 generations were boys. Also added to that, is the timing of the conception. I know within 2 days of when I ovulated, it coincides exactly with my husband's return from a business trip. According to the theories that influence the sex of the baby, I am more likely to have a boy due to the timing of the conception.
I have felt the baby move a few times, although it's nothing compared to what my first son could do to my insides at the end of that pregnancy. It's like little butterflies in my lower abdomen. Thankfully I've lost my constant nausea, so I can function a little better now. I had another 3 months of morning sickness with this one, yay! I'm still tired alot, but it's not as bad as it has been. There were some nights in my first trimester, where I had to go to bed at 6:00 pm. Dealing with work, a toddler, and pregnancy symptoms is getting to be a bit hard to handle. I can't wait until August when I'll take my maternity leave. I'll be taking a year off, and although I'm not looking forward to the sleepless nights, I am looking forward to focusing on being a mommy.
Also, I announced I was pg at work on Feb 6th. It went well, everyone was surprised but very happy for me. I was a bit worried about telling everyone, because technically I came back to work from my maternity leave, already pregnant! Although I had only known I was pg for about 5 days previous.
