My mood while writing this blog: Ok |
I guess I'm now officially 41 weeks pregnant, one week overdue. I went into the hospital this morning, to have a BPP ultrasound and non-stress test, and she passed with flying colours. The only problem was that it took an awful long time to get her to move. There was no problem with the amniotic fluid or finding the heartbeat and the breathing were caught on US pretty easily, but I guess she was feeling sleepy. I tried moving position a few times, and drinking cold water, finally after like 10 minutes we got some movements on screen. The tech said as far as she could tell (unclear pic) that little peanut is still a girl, as there was nothing showing. Her weight estimate was given as 8 lbs and 14 oz, so I can pretty easily expect a 9 lb baby when she finally does arrive. We followed that up with a NST, and everything was fine with that as well.
My midwife did an internal exam today, and I was measuring at 2 cm dilated, with about 60% effacement, and the baby at -2 station. My cervix was still pretty posterior, which made it pretty hard for her to do the exam. She also attempted a stretch and sweep of the membranes, but because if the position of my cervix, she couldn't do a very thorough job. We decided to give me until Friday before attempting to induce labour. I'll be 10 days overdue, and if we get to that point, hopefully my everything will be favourable for induction. I won't be able to have the cervadil, due to this being a VBAC, but I'll go in on Friday for a pitocin drip, to hopefully get the contractions started. I also have to go back to the hospital on Thursday for another NST, just to make sure that he baby is doing ok.
Less than 5 days until I have my baby girl!
