04-2-2010 - 17 weeks and counting...

My mood while writing this blog: Ok

Just made my 18 week ultrasound appointment for Feb 16th Had to schedule it for a day when hubby could come, and that's the only week we could work it out. It's at 8:30 am and he's working 10-7. I have to take a couple hours off work, but that's fine.

In other news, I have been crunching some numbers, and doing some budgeting. I'm trying to figure out if we can afford for me to stay at home after this Maternity leave is over, and it looks like a definite possibility! We have a year and a half, (six months of pregnancy and one year Mat leave) for hubby to get a promotion (which we think he'll get this spring anyway), and I'll be able to stay home! It also means we have to do some budget saving between now and the end of my Mat leave. We won't be able to upgrade to a bigger house like we were hoping, and probably have to go back to having one vehicle. I think it's definitely a plan though. Plus, because I have an awesome union contract I can take the extra time (without pay, obviously) and come back up to 5 years later, and get my job back, guaranteed!

Anyway, for now it's still only a possibility, but it's nice to know that it might be on the horizon.
