| 08-3-2010 - 21 Weeks | My mood while writing this blog:Ok |
I had my midwife appt last week, and I am going for another ultrasound to try and get some of the measurements that they couldn't get last time. There were problems getting some pictures of the heart and face. Plus, I know this isn't really important but I really wanted a picture of my baby's profile. :) I'm hoping they'll get to re-confirm the gender for me as well. I've scheduled it for Wed at 4:00 pm, so I'll get to see him again in two days. :)
Other than the missing measurements and pictures everything was great. Also got the results back from my IPS screening, and that was all in the normal range. So that was some great news too. They want me to go for an early GD Glucose test since I am overweight, and have had a baby with a large birthweight before. My son was 9 lbs 11 oz, but my daughter (2nd born) was only 7 lb 14 oz, both of them were 10 +days overdue too. I've had 4 of the tests over my two previous pregnancies, and everything has been normal. I actually have a friend who is pregnant right now, very much NOT overweight, and she has had Gestational Diabetes during both of her pregnancies. I felt like telling them no, I hate that orange drink! I figured I might as well check just to be sure.
I think I had a touch of food poisoning last week. I was sick all Wednesday afternoon, but I was able to eat some eggos (nothing on them) and gingerale for dinner, and keep it down. It only lasted around 6 hours, and no one else in the family got it, so I definitely think it was something I ate. I've never had something like that that didn't last at least a day though, so that's weird.
I've been craving a Shamrock Shake (mint minkshake, which they discontinued in Canada), and chocolate mint Girl Guide Cookies, which you can only buy in the Fall in Canada! So, basically I'm craving foods I can't get. :( I may be taking a trip over through Detroit on the 20th, so I'm thinking of grabbing a shake then, but I'm not sure if McDonald's still sells them after St. Patrick's day?
This is my third baby so I don't really have to do all the shopping you first time mums do, since I've kept everything from my other kids. My oldest son is only three so it's not like the clothes will even be out of style! lol Anyway, I've been making a list of the stuff I do want to buy, and it's more of a wish list than anything because I can get by fine without any of this stuff, if I have to.
Nursing bras (I didn't have enough last time)
New Sling (last one was not really comfortable, and I didn't use it very long)
Going home outfit (Can't have hand me downs for this!)
New Cloth Diapers (Would like to try some different ones)
A couple of nice outfits in a couple different sizes. Can't make him have ALL hand-me-downs. :)
I'm not really sure if there's anything else I'll need, but I've certianly got the time to think about it. We've already got a big girl bed set for my daughter, so we're planning on moving her out of the crib a month or so before the baby comes. She'll be 23 months when he's born, so I'm hoping she'll handle it well.
