22-7-2008 - identical girls

My mood while writing this blog: too happy

wow. . so i thought i would write a new blog for those who are interested they can hear my story!!

so ive been with daniel, my now husband, for 3 1/2 years, and we are super happy. we bought a house last year, and as many people know they usually say "new house, new baby" and well, im pregnant!! and i love it!! my journey began at about christmas, i just had this weird feeling and i didnt feel right...next thing its my birthday, jan 4th, and i was thinking i had missed something and then i was like OMG i missed my period. so i waited another week, and i didnt even tell Daniel...until i got that big fat possitive lol. we were both really scared at first, and had no idea what to do. but after a few tearful nights we decided to be strong and bring this Baby up the best we can! a few weeks past and i started to have some pain in m abdomen so they got me in for an early scan, and sure enough there was one little heart beating away, and my gosh the releif!!! Daniel didnt go to that scan cos he had to work, but he was so thrilled that all was well. they booked me in for my 12week dating scan, and we got the BIGGEST shock of our lives EVER!!....the sonographer said "siobhan, have you been really ill with this pregnancy?" and i was like no, nothing i wouldnt really know i was pregnant, i mean i hadnt had any sickness or anything i was actually quite worried! so then she says "well i have a supprise for you, your having TWINS!!!". well, i didnt know what to say, i didnt know if i shud be happy or sad. i looked at daniel and he was crying, and he just smiled at me, i knew from that moment that everything would be ok. that sed i was still inconsolable in the waiting room! had to see a consultant, he referred us to a specialist hospital to see if they were identical or fraternal. so we went to the scan and i was like i soooo hope they are identical, and they are!!! IDENTICAL TWINS, wahoo. we told family at this point at they were amazed and so happy, this is the first set of twins in our families!!! and all in 10 weeks we got married and founf out the sex of our twins, we having GIRLS!!! so now i can go out and buy tons of matching girly outfits!!! i have scans every two weeks to check on our little ladies, and they are doing greatm no signs of TTTS, and both are now head down (at 31 weeks). last week i had the steroid injections to develop their lungs...should they decide to make an early entrance!! and i dont know if anyone else has had these injections but i thought they hurt like hell!!

so to sum it up, im 31 WEEKS PREGNANT WITH IDENTICAL TWIN GIRLS!!! and i only have a max of 5 weeks to go, sadly they sed that a c-section is the best bet as it will be sefest for my girls. we'll see.

daniel and i are so happy and feel just so blessed to be given to little girls from god.

AW CONGRATS!! I HAD GREAT FUN WITH MY TWO LIL ONES...MINE WERE EMERGENCY CSECTION AND ITS ALL THE BEST AT THAT STAGE.. BRINGS THE BABYIES TO THEIR FULLEST DEVELOPMENT AND UR MIND IS ASSURED BCOZ THE DOCS KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON U!! i only found out it was twins 7 weeks b4 they were born.. talk about a rush!! keep us informed... I LOVE TWINS :o) !!! xx

Wow - your story is so similar to mine. We found out ours are twin girls as well. I am so happy (either way I would have been happy) but girl clothes are so adorable. Congratulations you to!! I can't wait to read about the rest of your journey (as I am only 23 weeks and still have a while to go).

how many weeks were you when you felt the babies? should I be concerned that I haven't felt them yet and I'm 17 weeks?
