04-7-2009 - Hospital visit number 2

So today (Friday) was the second time I was stuck in the hospital for hours. On Wednesday I went to my High risk specialist and my blood pressure was threw the roof. (I had not taken my medication that morning I have hypertension) and he said he was sending me across the street to the hospital. So off I go to L/D to have them check me out. (I had things I had to do but I figured it would not take that long I took my med's on the way over so I would be ok) well we get over to the hospital they check me in and the drama starts... they hook me up to the fetal monitor they put a I.V. in a really uncomfy part of my wrist that is still sore today.. they poke and prod me and test my blood pressure that is still high.. and wont go down because the more they are doing to me the less happy I am the more they are stressing me out , the table I am on is HELL in ugly pink and gray vinel and they want me at this uncomfortable weird reclined /sitting /laying position.. and my ass is falling asleep and numb and hurts and my back is killing me and I can't breath on my back like that... UGH. So my blood pressure will NOT go down and they are thinking preclampsia and they want to admit me and keep me over night. I absolutely can NOT stay over night because I had traffic court that night and because I missed the first hearing I had to go or pay 740 bucks have a bench warrant out for me and lose my licence. SO I checked myself out.. I had to sign this awful paper saying I know the risks .. and that they include fetal death and some other scary stuff. OMG. I got the court to postpone it for me when I showed them the paper I signed. Anyway I went to my OB the next day and I was fine pressure everything.. fine BUT I have to do the 24 hour Pee test and she says that I should bring it back to the hospital and while I am there just have them check my pressure. (evil woman knew what would happen but did not bother telling me to clear my entire day) So I get to the hospital and I figure once again wrongly that it will take a hour maybe .. nope the same shit happens ALL over again, only this time my pressure is fine (I had taken my med's) and so it only took 4 1/2 hours before they let me leave.
HOLY CRAP I hate the hospital!

Ugh, I had many experiences with that during my last pregnancy. Only I was given a blood pressure monitor to take home. I had to check my blood pressure 5 times a day. Every second day a nurse would come to my house and check my blood pressure, protein in my urine, fetal heart and my readings over the past two days. If it was high enough, she would send me to the hospital. Sometimes I was kept in for days for 'monitoring' even when my blood pressure was fine. Such a pain though.

omg i know what you mean everytime i go to the hospital they always end up keeping me ugh..... i feel your pain girl. hugs
