20-11-2008 - 6 months of successful BF!!!

My mood while writing this blog: Great!!

Hi All,

My daughter turned 6 months on Nov 10 2008..She has been successfully exclusively breastfed with no solids whatsoever at this point!!.. I am so ecstatic that we have reached our short term goal..We want to continue this atleast until she is 1 yr and then slowly wean her by 15 months..

I gotta tell you, being here, it was not easy..It took great efforts from both me and my baby to be here..I had borderline mastitis twice, thrush once, several clogged ducts, sudden latching problems when she was 4 months due to teething..u name it, we had it...but we survived...Perseverance..I really get the meaning of this word now..

I currently have a blister on my right nipple for the past 2 months, it hurts when she is not eating and burns sometimes when she is eating...But I will be fine...All I see is how my baby grows and feel proud that it is all on me..she is 95% in weight and 75% in height..that is what keeps me going...

The breastfeeding forum in this site is great and they have lots of advices for any question you may have...A great set of inspiring women out there...Hats off!!

For all those new mom to bes out there, whatever your feeding choice is, please give breastfeeding a try.. The bonding we get is incomparable, those tiny little eyes light up after they are done and the cutest smile they give as a thank you...the feeling is not explainable by words..

I love my life more than ever for having this opportunity to feed my daughter everyday...I am proud to be a Mom!! I pray to God that every woman in this world should be given this same opportunity for them to realize the meaning of life..

I am planning to start some solid foods for her..I have been trying to give her a spoon of cereal for a week and she is hating it..I am gonna try veggies and see if it interests her.. I hope to come back here and blog when we reach 1 year..
