19-8-2009 - 12 Weeks U/S

My mood while writing this blog: Relieved

Today was my 12 weeks appointment..It was just going to be regular check up and hearing heart beat(s) with Doppler..I went in very very nervous as it has been a month since I saw my babies...I was also wondering how they are going to make sure both the babies are fine with the doppler as it can be difficult to get 2 different heart rates..

First they weighed me and I have not even put an ounce but I look like I am 5 months pregnant..lol..BP was good too..Then I could not control myself anymore.. I asked the nurse about my doubt..She said 2 nurses with 2 Dopplers will try to hear the heartbeats and they have to be different rate..if not, they will give me ultrasound.

I told them the places I usually feel flutters and the first nurse was able to get the heartbeat right away..the second one kept proding me but she could not get the second beat..they tried for 15 mins and gave up and went to get the doctor..Dr came in and she ordered ultrasound right away..

I love the U/S tech..she is such a sweet lady..she first showed me both the babies and told everything is good before she proceeded to do further readings..I felt so relieved that I actually started breathing relaxed since the morning..Baby A's HR is 167 bpm and Baby B is at 160 bpm..they both are right on target..and oh, they have been fighting with each other..those little piggies were rolling on top of each other trying to get more space than the other..It was so funny..as we were watching Baby A did a somersault and landed on Baby B. and baby B bounced on the uterus wall and landed straight on Baby A..I kept telling them to be nice to each other..U/S tech kept laughing and my daughter got so annoyed as no one was paying attention to her..My hubby held her and showed her the babies and she started crying and laughing at the same time..It was as if I am glad to see you both but you are my competition..it was very funny..

Anyways, all is good finally and I am very happy and relieved..I am going on vacation to India for a month starting tomorrow..will see you all when I am back..
