Wednesday, 30 Sep Honestly, you wont need all that stuff... I had a c-section with my first and the only thing that I used was body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hair gel (I have curly hair), a pony tail holder, couple pairs of undies, and a night gown and socks. Everything else was a waste, oops, I forgot deoderant. Hubby went home and showered and changed while his grandparents stayed with me. All baby needed was a going home outfit and a diaper bag for when we were leaving. And honestly, I wouldnt bring a gown... use the hospitals and bring a robe if you want... I just got blood on mine. I didnt have enough time to do crosswords or anything else... In between spending time with baby I was sleeping and trying to recoup my energy or I had a few guests... I think you will have your hands full with just minimal stuff... cherryzz -
Wednesday, 30 Sep Im bringing just about everything you are. Just no extra clothes, blankets, or towels. I have TOO LITTLE clothes to get blood all over them. And trust me YOU WILL.. I didnt think to bring any of that last time for the baby. I did bring an outfit and blankets. And of course Car seat. This time Hubby cant be there because we have a 1 year old at home. And I will be there for 4 days because Im having a repeat C section. claire louise -
Wednesday, 30 Sep The daddy bag is a great idea.x princessw -
Tuesday, 29 Sep I packed just about everything that you did, and came home with it- folded up neatly just the way i had put it in before. They wouldn't even let me put the onsies on my baby that I had taken for her. they said it was for security reasons. the only time i was able to put clothes on her was about 5 minutes before we were discharged!! I also took 2 or 3 outfits for myself, and didn't use them. Someone previously mentioned that you bleed all over the place, and it is true. No need to get your clothes stained, just use their gowns. Good luck Madilyns♥Mommy -
Tuesday, 29 Sep You are in the hospital between 1-3 days, if vaginal like 24 hours after birth you go home. We all pack this stuff & NEVER USE IT. Just bring a outfit for baby one newborn one 0-3 incase baby is big, and whatever you want the baby to wear ( hospital takes care of diapers, just have a bag for baby in car ) a carsetand something for you to wear home, and some undies...No need for anything else you will be worried about the baby :) crystalblueeyes -
Tuesday, 29 Sep i took a load of mess w/ me and just my personal experience w/ it..i didnt need it. i stayed in my hospital gown cuz i kept getting blood on em..i know thats gross but its the truth. i didnt want to mess up my own clothes, plus they give u these really stretchy lil panties that u can throw away, or at least my hospital did, u might wanna ask cuz u will mess urs up if u wear good ones. i had no idea i would need pads like i did, but omg the hospital pads suck, bring ur own, like those really good over nite kind. i think that was about all i needed, i hope this helps hun :) OKaylaO -
Tuesday, 29 Sep I honestly don't think you'll need a comforter or extra towels. The hospital will provide as many blankets and towels as you need. Don't be afraid to request extra ones as needed- for you, the baby, or Daddy. Plus, it will be a pain to have to bring all the extra stuff back home, plus anything people bring you to the hospital. PJs are fine, but I doubt you'll use them, just depends on the person. Everyone I know said they didn't want anything clingy or around the waist, and the bleeding will be heavy for a while- atleast during your hospital stay. I put 2 or 3 pairs of undies in my bag. I figured I'd put them over the netting type ones the hospital provides, so I don't feel like I'm leaking. You wouldn't want to ruin them. The baby book is a great idea. I'm actually just taking a note pad to write down things and then later transfer them to the baby book. Good luck. Everything else sounds great. I also put chapstick in my bag. I think that's about it. I thought I'd have so much stuff, but my bag is pretty empty. Lol.
