| 10-8-2009 - Baby Dominic may be here sooner than planned! | My mood while writing this blog:Scared |
We had an ultrasound last Tuesday. The doctor said Dominic is getting too big, too fast. He said that our next ultrasound is on September 1st, and if he is still way too big, that we will probably do an amnio and if his lungs are ready, they will induce then. That is 3 weeks from today and Dominic will only be 36 weeks then. He is estimated to be almost five pounds right now. EEEK! I think that is way too early to have him. I am going to try and keep him in there until atleast 37 weeks. Daisy made it it to 37 weeks and she was perfectly fine. It seems bizarre that I could have a baby in 21 days. We have already started our weekly ob appointments since we are high risk. We have a doctors appointment evey Tuesday, followed by a stress test. The obstetrician says he is too big because my blood sugar control is not perfect, but the endocrinologist says if we push for tighter control, I will have more low blood sugars and risk seizures. I pointed out to the obstetrcian that many non diabetic mothers have big babies. He could just be a big boy, regardless of my diabetes. And, my blood sugars have been in range 95% of the time. So, we will see what happens.
Other than being a big boy, Dominic looks good. HE has enough amniotic fluid and all his parts are where they are supposed to be. Cross your fingers for me that I make it atleast another four weeks!
No peeking! How far along do you thinnk I am?...
