Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Karson. I was born on May 1st, that's right a May Day baby. Get over it dad MAYDAY! we know. OI with the kittens already!! I was born at 4:10pm Arizona time, was 20 and a half inches long and weighed 7lb 8oz. As soon as I saw those chubby cheeks however, I decided that I had to lose 12oz immediately. Well, apparently my mom and the doctor had other plans 'cause now I've put it all back on and am starting to gain weight despite the amazing number of diapers I go through in a given day.

I am sorry that it took this long to announce myself to you all, but the parents said that I had to be at least 7 days old before they would trust me with internet access, something about internet fraud and spam. What the heck does a can of unknown meat product have to do with surfing the net anyway? Anyway, I'm 7 days old today so internet, here I come! Whoo-hoo! Seemed like an eternity though, I just couldn't wait to get my hands on a keyboard. Parents and their rules, I tell ya!

So despite being denied internet access, it's been a busy week for me. I had to make training the parental units my first priority. Since these two are total newbies I couldn't help but have a little fun by playing a few tricks on them. Here's how it goes down:

1. Feeding:
   I had to teach mom to feed me. Turns out she's a pretty quick learner and I'm a heck of a teacher. I tried not to make it too easy though. I wiggle around, kick my legs and make her use all the positions or "holds" she learned in that feeding class just to see if she was paying attention.
2. Diapers:
   Next, well at the same time really, I had to teach them how to change my diapers. This is actually proving to be a bit more of a challenge than the feeding thing. You would think that between the 2 of them, one would remember to either "tuck me down", if you know what I mean, or make the waist line of the diaper good and tight. But NOOOOO! almost every time, they forget one or both and sure enough.... well, I won't go into graphic detail, but let me just say that I went through like 7 outfits yesterday. The fun part though is toying with them. I give them the sign that it's time to change me. As soon as they are done, or sometimes right in the middle of the change, I go again! HA! I get them every time! When will they learn? I love that game.
3. Sleeping:
   As I said earlier, I am only 7 days old today so I tend to sleep like 16 to 20 hours a day. At first I thought about doing a couple 8's or 10's but then I thought, where's the fun in that? So, I opted for 2 1/2 to 4 hour sleep shifts. I try not to do the same twice in a row so I can keep them guessing. It's a bit wearing on me too, but you should see those two! Man are they wiped out! HA! Well, in truth they were wiped out. It seems someone came up with the idea of sleeping in shifts. He stays up all day and deals with the diapers, changes and stuff while letting her take naps. Then she lets him sleep through the night. I have to admit, they've got me there.

Ok, so what else have I been doing... OH! YES! So they took me to the doctor yesterday to get "snipped"! How rude! That was SO not fun! The doctor said it didn't really hurt, but I don't know... It's healing up pretty good, but MAN! On the up side, I did get to sleep for like 4+ hours after that so if there is a up side, I guess that's it. Anyway, that's over and I don't have another doc appointment until like Wednesday I think. I make mom keep track of all my appointments.

I've also had quite a few visitors this week, thanks to all of you for stopping by. Now this does kind of cut into my sleep schedule, but you all seem nice so I'll let it slide. But my dad, OMG (that's Oh My Gosh for all you non-texters out there)! He just can't put that camera down! Every time someone gets their hands on me, there he is! Clicking away! Sheesh! How embarrassing! Imagine how he will be when we start to go out in public. It'll be like having the paparazzi follow me around.

Well, that's all I have to report for this week. Wish me luck as I continue to try and train these two. It's no cake walk, but with my help they could be the best!
