22-5-2009 - Trip to Labor & Delivery.. ugh!

My mood while writing this blog: EXHAUSTED

So we were in L&D till 3:00 AM this morning with contractions every 2-3 minutes... FOR 4 FRIGGEN HOURS!

OK So yesterday I got this HUGE burst of energy almost from the time that I woke up...
I went to work, and I walked a TON and I did laundry when I got home, and I went shopping, and drank castor oil, got cleaned out *(BM's) and more walking. Even argued with DH... I started timing the contractions at around 8:30 last night and I was contracting every 3-5 mins at first and the we went for a walk and then I went home and drank some water, and sat down and really started to contract, every 2-3 mins. I let it go for a few hours and then around 11:30 my DH was like we nned to just go in and he went up and got my bag, and I called the Dr. He was like this is your 3rd child and if you are contracting that much Definately come in to be checked... Well, I did, and they checked me around 12 and I was a 3 just like Wednesday at my Dr appt when he stripped my membranes... I thought that I had lost my mucus plug earlier this week, but OH NO I TELL YOU, i LOST IT LAST NIGHT IN THE HOSPITAL. And it was weird...
After being monitored, for 2 hours, I went to the bathroom, and wiped, and there was a HUGE, and I mean HUGE blob of greenish./.yellowish snot! It kinda scared me, but the nurse re-assured me and after remembering reading on here, I knew it in the back of my mind what it was, but I just wasn't prepared i guess...

So after being there for over 3 hours, and my DH falling asleep on the couch, in the room, AND still contracting every 2-3 minutes, they checked my cervix again, and there was no progress... Still at a 3, so they let us go, even though I am still contracting every 2-3 minuites??? WHAT THE HECK!. I felt like such a loser... I tried NOT to go to the hospital till 'IT WAS TIME' BUT OH NO... she just wasn't ready. I even called the Dr before I went in and he was like since this is your 3rd one and you are doing this every 2-3 minutes, we need you to come in and I told him I just don't want to come in to early and be sent home... Well we got sent home at 3:30 aM and we went straight to bed, I ended up passing out real quick, and this morning I woke up and thought what the hell I might as well go to work so I don't sit at home and go stir crazy! Plus a whole weeks pay would be nice as well... So here I sit at work again, with not much to do because I have handed most everything off already. I am SO READY, AND my DH is to... Now nothing is really happening I am not contracting like I was, so i guess it is all in GODS time!, I am letting go! I just called My Doc So we will see what she says...

Poor you!... I have been there!! isn't this frustrating!..the waiting is killing me too!! ! This is my 4th and I so expected baby early as my last one was..I'm creeping up on my due date Tuesday! hang in there..you probably won't go further than a couple days! (((hugs))) and labor dust your way!

why did they not break your water i was at 3cm with my first for 12 hours so they broke my waters oh i hope it happerns soon for you hun xx

Been there hun and if this was my 3rd and I was contracting like that I would have went in too! You are not alone. I went to the ER twice to have to leave empty handed. I tried castor oil, EPO, eggplant parm,walking til my feet hurt, bouncing on a birthing ball, jumping jacks, sex, running up and down steps and finally I realize that this is gonna happen in its own time. the bright side is we have less than 10 days left. I felt so disappointed leaving the hospital and it makes me question if I know the real thing or not and this isn't my 1st. Now I am afraid when the real things happens I may just not trust my instincts.

At least your having contractions, Im due tomorrow and I think Ive had like 3 contractions through out my whole pregnancy!!!!
