Dear Little Valentines,
Awww, what better time than Valentine’s Day to write you all a little letter reminding you why I love you all so much? You are the best Valentine’s gift a mommy could ever receive. It’s been a while since I last wrote, but not too much has happened.
We made it through the holidays. We had a blast! We made yummy goodies for our neighbors; who were thrilled to receive them from such adorable little Santa helpers! Grandma moved to town and now we get to see her at least once a week! She got to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with us. We had a fancy, dress-up dinner Christmas Eve…just our little family was invited. J Then, we all climbed in to jammies and hopped into Daddy’s car and went to look at Christmas lights around town. Jake and Grace had a serious case of the sillies the whole ride, while Carter was sitting all cozy in his carseat with his hot cocoa. Santa came!!! He brought you such wonderful presents and we were so grateful.
New Years was pretty quiet. We celebrated with our family at home. We all climbed in Mommy and Daddy’s bed and watched movies, ate popcorn, and had candy. Oh and we played a board game that we got for Christmas. Mommy crashed out early…maybe 8:30, but woke up around 10. Grace and Daddy then crashed out around 11:00. Jake almost made it the whole way. We had to really wake-up Grace though. She couldn’t keep her eyes open. The ball finally dropped and so did we! Happy New Year!
Jake turned 4! Darn it! I tried to convince him to stay 3, but he was determined to become a big boy. We celebrated his birthday by having a big party with all of our family. The party was a jungle/safari theme and I made the cake. I am no Betty Crocker, but it turned out pretty well. At least our guests could tell what it was. We played charades, had a treasure hunt, and learned the Animal Cracker song. Jakie! You got your first big-boy bike!!! It’s a super cool BMX’er. No training wheels for you though…you are learning to ride without.
Grace is becoming such a great reader! She just made it through her first chapter book. I get a little teary-eyed when I see her reading. I love books and I am so glad that you do too, Grace. Gracie, you are also starting to be quite social at school. Your little friends have been calling. I can’t believe that you are a first grader and are talking on the phone. You are such an amazing little girl. I am so proud of you.
Goodness Carter, you have grown. You are saying and doing so much now. You are becoming a boy, no longer a baby. You love to wrestle with Daddy and your brother and sister. You follow them everywhere they go. You are absolutely obsessed with shoes and never want to take them off, despite the fact that we don’t’ wear shoes in the house (we let you keep yours on though…just because you are so cute about it). Despite all my silent prayers and wishful thinking…you are still not sleeping through the night! You wake up anytime you go potty. You hate to be in a wet diaper. So, every night, Daddy goes to you, while I make you a bottle (yes, you still drink from a bottle…we are not worried about this small detail…amongst all the other major details of life). If we didn’t give you a bottle, you would never go back to sleep. So, it is as much for us, as it is for you.
Well, my cupids, I must go for now. I love you…to the moon and back…infinity to the infinitith power times!
Love Always,
Mommy
