| 15-8-2008 - Friday August 15 2008 (2nd Infusion) | My mood while writing this blog:tired, but hoping for the best :) |
Well hello freedom, omg, now not trying to complain, but what a week....Monday I was down in Detroit which is about (with good traffic) 40 mins away...but the expressway is ALWAYS backed up, or something is wrong, then again I do live in Michigan...ugh...so then Tuesday was my scheduled infusion, well after being hooked up to the IV machine and them taking literally 8-10 vials of my blood, I was told that they only had 1 of the 4 vials for the infusion....ugh...so I was supposed to go back around 1pm on Wednesday, however my drs office called me Tuesday afternoon just telling me to go Thursday at 8am....okay, so more time off work and less $$, yay.
Okay, so yesterday I went back to the lovely city of Detroit, which I am sure everyone has heard about their (not MY mind you..lol) mayor has a teather on and cannot go out of a 3 county area..(I believe) so thats the lovely city I went back to...my mother and I got there around 8, now with the registration and again these nurses that had NO clue what the heck I was getting, but after sitting around in LRC (labor reception center) I was finally after an hr admitted into the hospital, so I get to my room....waiting and waiting, finally the nurse comes in to do the IV (and yes before this I made sure the medications was in) she then took MORE blood...I asked how long it would take to get the medicaion (it was already almost 11) she said she was not sure....finally I was hooked up about 12:30p......so here is the fun part, the IV machine started beeping, so I called the nurse in, one nurse came in and fixed it (the cytogam side was stopped or something?) she "fixed it" well as soon as she walked outta the room it started beeping again, so I had to call the nurse again, my regular nurse and the one that just came in the room, my nurse looked down and seen that my IV was actually backing my blood from me to the IV...so she tried to fix it, and so you know the cytogam is the color and consistesy of egg white...well after she reversed my blood INTO the vial, it looked like Fruit punch..YUMMY! I was about to pass out, granted I see blood all the time, but ugh, that was something else...and loooong story short that happened to me twice yesterday..so by the end it looked very red...yuk. Okay so after the second time, my nurse overrided the system and more or less I received all the cytogam probably too fast, but honestly I dont care, nothing seems to be wrong with me..well yet..lol....so I was done with it by around 2:30 give or take....but I had to wait and wait and wait....I did get another MCA reading (anemia) it was in the mid 70's, still very high, but not like the mid 90's on monday, also he is very very very low, honestly he is about 3-4 inches away from saying hello to the world, but they did check me and I am 1cm "long and hard" I believe is what she said...I just wanted to laugh....I was having small contractions every 4 minutes...but all in all everything was okay...and around 5:00 I was allowed to leave, after being very very adimate that I wanted the hell outta there....so here I am at work, tired and ready for the weekend, then back to Detroit next Monday AND friday....I believe that was my last infusion...so dont get me wrong, no complaints but OMG, I am now petrified of labor, and being in that bed again!!!
Based on the U/S this time he is estimated around 4lb 11oz :) (oh and if I forgot to mention on Monday they looked at his liver and spleen and based on his belly measurments they do not *think* he has any enlargements because his belly would be enlarged and it is no longer, so here is hoping!)
I did end up getting the nurse to find out what the hospital pd for the cytogam, it was $9,064.00, she then said "you'd better be glowing tonight" I just lauged..wow so if I have to pay for it, thats $18,128.00...so start donating...lol ;p
