I found out I was pregnant 4 days ago. I took a Clear Blue test which said I was 2-3 weeks pregnant. We were ecstatic. But 2 days ago i had some light pink spotting which stopped after wiping. Yesterday, no blood but severe lower back pain. Wasn't too worried even at this point as i'd had really bad back pain the first time I was pregnant and that resulted in my healthy 4 year old, and the bleeding had stopped. However, this morning there was bright red blood, no clots. That stopped as well. I took myself to A&E and they referred me. An vaginal ultrasound showed nothing, but my HCG levels were 882. They instantly said they thought it was ectopic and I would probably need surgery. But isn't this all a little early, I'm only about 4 weeks pregnant (if I still am)....would there have been something in the ultrasound? They are oging to check my levels in 48hours....should I hang onto any hope, or should I just start to grieve? Help please :0(

Thank you everyone for all the hope and support you gave me. Unfortunately today i found out my HCG had dropped to 320, I miscarried two days ago apparently and the body is taking care of itself. I have been actively grieving for two days as i no longer felt pregnant. In my heart if I'm honest, i knew. Now we are going to try again as soon as i start bleeding and finish this miscarriage once the bleeding stops. I actually feel better just knowing what's going on. Now to TTC as soon as possible....

Just to add, I finished taking the pill about 4-5 weeks ago, so it did happen soon after, but two weeks after I stopped the first test i did came back negative. I was very regular on the pill, was due for AF this week...

It is so nice to hear some words of reassurance, although since writing this i have seen more darkish brown blood, probably not the best sign...I guess i'll have to wait it out. Amazing to hear of others successes though! NO heart rate at 7 weeks!! I would be freaking out, i'm so happy it worked out.

it is very early, so don't hit the panic button! I hate it when Dr's jump to the worst case scenario. Even if it is ectopic (and I hope not) there is little risk early on. I was 7 weeks pregnant when I found out I had an ectopic pregnancy. The Dr's were not worried as the method of treatment early on is often a drug called methotrexate, not surgery.

I would definitely hang onto hope. You are still early, too early to be seeing anything other than maybe a pole & a sac. Do you have regular 28 day cycles, or when were you expecting AF? There is a lady on this website that is currently 14 wks pregnant. At about 7 weeks they were told there was no heartbeat and so they were waiting for miscarriage to happen and it never did. Baby is growing and measuring where it should. They have since changed doctors. Have faith :)
