17-12-2008 - IVF Cycle 4 (FET) BFP

My mood while writing this blog: Surprised, Over Joyed, Happy, In Shock, etc...

October 20th: AF showed up yesterday. I called the fertility specialist and we are ready to move forward with our transfer. I've had an URI since last Wednesday and am still not at 100%. I'll update more soon. Good luck and ~*~babydust~*~ to all TTC...

October 23rd: So I don't have to go to the fertility center until November 8th for blood work and an ultra sound. I will start my meds that night which means my transfer will be anytime from Thanksgiving (November 27th) thru December 7th. My nurse seems to think it will be December 5th so my pregnancy test will be on December 19th if that's the case. Good luck and ~*~babydust~*~ to all TTC...

October 29th: I just found out that my company is not going to cover infertility treatments any longer. I am disputing this as state mandates they do but who knows what will happen. I am having my final embryo transfer on or around December 5th so it will still be on my old insurance. Hubby and I can't afford to pay out of pocket ($15 - 18K per cycle) as it's too expensive. November 6th: I have been so tired lately. Last night I fell asleep on the couch at 7:45 and had trouble getting up at 6 this morning for work. Also been experiencing some cramps and my left breast is itchy and sore. I go for my day 21 blood work on Saturday so I have have my frozen embryo transfer next month. Not sure what's going on. I've been hoping and praying for a miracle since January 2006 (35 months). Wouldn't it be great if we finally got pregnant the 'old fashioned way'? Today is 4DPO. November 10th: Went for my blood work on Saturday. Everything looks fine but the doctor upped my Lupron from 10 units to 20 (not too bad) and was told to call with day one of my cycle (which should be in about 5 or 6 days). November 17th: AF hasn't arrived yet. My cycle is usually 25 - 28 days. Not sure what's going on. I have a really bad headache today (also had one on Saturday) and some cramping. This is going to throw off my FET date. I'm 15 DPO today. If she doesn't show in a day or two, I'll test (have to buy one). Good luck and ~*~ babydust~*~ to all TTC...

November 18th: I had some light red/pink spotting last night when I wiped. This morning it was brown and only when I wiped. Nothing since. I've been having some cramps way down low. I either need a BFP or AF to start to I can start the other medications for the FET next month. Good luck and ~*~ babydust ~*~ to all TTC...

November 19th: AF arrived today with a vengance. I spoke to my RE Nurse and hubby & I are going for blood work on Saturday. I will also have an internal ultrasound. I'll update more after the weekend. Good luck and ~*~babydust~*~ to all TTC...

November 24th: Had my blood work done on Saturday. They lowered my dosage of Lupron to 10 units for 2 days and then 5 units (starting today). I am now taking estrace twice a day and go back on Thursday morning for blood work again. My RE Nurse said that the FET will be any day next week. As early as Monday but no later than Saturday. This is it for me. My only frozen embryo and last cycle insurance is covering. Hubby and I are both praying for our little miracle. I'll update more soon. Good luck and ~*~babydust~*~ to all TTC...

December 1st: I went for more blood work and an ultrasound on Thursday, November 27th. My dose of Estrace was changed to 2 pill twice a day. I went again this morning for more blood work and an ultra sound. I haven't received the results yet but the Doctor said he will see me in a few days for the same. I'm at 6 and they are waiting for 8-10 thickness. I'll update more once I speak to my nurse. Good Luck and ~*~babydust~*~ to all TTC...

December 2nd: Spoke to my nurse yesterday and was told to take the Estrace (2 pills twice a day) vaginally instead of orally. I am still taking 5 units of Lupron a day. I go back on Friday for blood work and another ultrasound. My transfer will be some time next week (Wednesday at the earliest). Good luck and ~*~babydust~*~ to all TTC...

December 5th: Went for blood work and ultrasound this morning. I'm officially ready for transfer. I will start the progesterone shots, doxycycline and medrol tonight, continue the estrace and stop the lupron. My transfer is scheduled for Wednesday, December 10th (mid-afternoon) and my pregnancy test is scheduled for Friday, December 19th (early in the morning). I have to go back on Tuesday, December 9th for blood work and an ultrasound (pre-transfer) and again on Friday, December 12th (post-transfer). Good luck and ~*~babydust~*~ to all TTC...

December 9th: Blood work and ultrasound went great this morning. Dr said "it doesn't get better than this" while looking at my lining. That was the best news I ever received. They will start the thaw processes tomorrow morning and call me between 9 and 11:30am with my transfer time. Good luck and loads of ~*~ babydust ~*~ to all TTC...

December 10th: I just got the call...I have to be there at 1:45 pm to start drinking water. My transfer time is about 2:30 pm. I'll update more later in the week. Good luck and ~*~ babydust ~*~ to all TTC...

December 11th: The thaw process went great yesterday. Not only did our little bean survive but it went back to "normal" size pre-transfer. The doctor said that's good for a blastocyst and it was put back at 5.35 centimeters. I go back tomorrow for blood work (progesterone and estrogen levels) and my prenancy test is on Dec 19th. December 12th: Blood work this morning had my progesterone level at 37. They said that was high enough to support a pregnancy. Being my emybryo was at blastocyst stage at time of transfer, it should have implanted already. I hope that's what the very slight cramps I have yesterday and this morning meant. I don't go back again until the pregnancy test next Friday. Good luck and ~*~ babydust ~*~ to all TTC...

December 17th: Well I guess my dreams have been shattered...I've started to bleed today. They tell me I still have to go for the pregnancy test on Friday so they can close out my cycle. My TTC journey has now come to an end. Good luck and ~*~ babydust~*~ to all... Update: I just spoke to my nurse again. I am going for my blood test today at 1pm. They say I shouldn't be bleeding while on progesterone shots and are concerned that my dose may be too low. I'll let you when I get the results. UPDATE: Blood results are in and...BPF BFP BFP. Finally got our BFP. I am being monitored due to the bleeding but I'M PREGNANT. Thanks to everyone for your support and words of encouragement. Good luck and ~*~ BABYDUST ~*~ to all.

December 19th: My numbers are rising as much as they should be. I barely had an increase from Wednesday to today (22.1 to 25.7). I go back on Sunday for more blood work. They say it's not a good sign but stranger things have happened. I'll keep ya all posted.
