January 7, 2009: We had our conference call with the doctor this afternoon. He suggested we look into donor eggs. There a seminar at the end of this month or the beginning of March that we can attend for more information. It would cost about $30,000 for the initial cycle and $15,000 for any frozen embryo cycles after that. There is still no gaurantee I will carry to term. Or that I'll even get pregnant. He said my egg quality is not great so that is probably what is keeping us from having a baby. If I had younger eggs (donor are usually between 21 & 33 years old) my chances would increase some. Hubby and I are going to discuss it further over the next week or so, get educated on the process and costs before we make any decision. The doctor said it's $2000 to get on the donor waiting list and it could take 6 months to a year before we find a suitable match for us. I want to thank all of you for your thoughts, prayers and kind words. I feel very blessed to have met all of you on this site. You are a great group of ladies and I wish you (and me) all the best in 2009.
