| 15-8-2011 - 36+5 | My mood while writing this blog:still fat |
Its all about sleep I have decided. Today I have woken up in a really good mood, everything is positive and I attribute that to a pretty good nights sleep. Poor Ben has been up and down all night for the past few nights due to a sore he has on his upper palate (I think he had something in his mouth and fell onto it) and he is getting his molars too. But last night the little monkey slept all night! Admittedly I was up peeing every 2 hours but it was a natural waking up, not being jolted out by screaming through the baby monitor. Anywho- So off to the hospital this morning for GBS swab and checkup, everything is fine, BP is great, spoke with a midwife about birthing plans, very exciting! she gave me a little handout which had checkboxes on it and you can chose the things you would like while in labour. Kind of like a birthplan, only not as intimidating for the midwives in birth suite I think!
Steve has gone away for 2 nights, he flew out today, so I am taking it easy, don't want labour to start anytime soon.
As for signs of labour, beware TMI alert, the mucus plug continues to dislodge and is there pretty much every toilet break. sometimes pink, sometimes clear and yellowy. BH contractions every day and night, worse at night. I have even been woken up throughout the night a couple of times because they are painful. I call them 'Bitey' pains because it feels like your being bitten in your lower abdomen and it extends up my sides. Have to keep reminding myself that these are all helping prepare things for our man to arrive. Lower back pains come and go, usually in the evenings but the heat pack works miracles on them.
The doctor today said I should see my GP in 1-2 weeks but she is away so it will have to be 3 weeks, my MIL has a sphygmomanometer (BP machine) so I think I'll just check my BP once a week on that. I have many friends who are midwives so I'm not too concerned.
Til next week, Take care xo
