03-7-2009 - 36 Week Doctors Visit

My mood while writing this blog: Ok

Hi all,

Just thought I would give a quick update on how yesterdays 36 week appointment went. Me and hubby got there and had to wait a while as my doc was over at a local hospital doing a delivery. When he finally came in, he measured my belly which was measuring about a week behind, then he checked the babies heartbeat which sounded good, then he did an exam for the first time since I first started going there. During the exam he did my Strep B test and then checked for the babies head and to see if I was dialated at all. (this hurt like HELL). I was NOT dialated at all, I was 40% effaced and he felt no head just as I suspected. So he called the nurse in to bring in his little hand held ultrasound machine to see where the babies head was, sure enough her head was up by my ribs...***breech***! He said well we have a couple more weeks and if she still doesnt turn head down that I will be getting a c-section. He said that I am also not a candidate for him to try and manipulate the baby head down and my uterus is just too tight and my torso is just too small that it woudnt work, I m guessing this is why she is breech to begin with. So I am guessing this is how its going to go down...as she has been in this position for a very long time, since before I attempted to get my 4-D ultrasound done and now there is even less room for her to move. I am quite worried as I dont like being on any kind of pain pills or medication as I am SO sensitive to everything. I really hope she moves by then but I literally have like 25 days left :( I guess anything can happen.

I hope everyone has a great/safe 4th of July, next week I will be turning the BIG 30....woo hooooo! I dont have big plans as I am pretty tired these days but my whole family and I will be going to a nice diner at Tempanyaki (sorta like Bennihannas) so that sound be fun!
