| 15-7-2009 - 38 Week Update and C-Section date |
My mood while writing this blog: scared/excited/disapointed |
Hi All, Just wanted to update you on my 38 week appointment yesterday. I am officially 38 weeks tomorrow and at my doc appointment yesterday I didnt gain any weight from the week before, so as of now I have gained about 18-19 pounds total. My blood pressure looked great, the babies heart rate sounded good and my belly measured a couple weeks behind at 35 weeks. He checked me and said that I am STILL not dialated at all, and still only 40% effaced...and he still felt NO head. The baby is still primary breech. He decided to place me on his c-section schedual for July 29th at 9 am...so that will be her birthday, unless she decides to turn by then. She must be my baby if she is this stubborn! I have bitter sweet feeling about this, I really wanted to experience normal labor and I am very nervous to have a c-section...it is considered major surgery by the way:( I also dont do good with pain meds, I am so sensitive to everything and pills and meds freak me out...I am more or less a control freak and dont like NOT feeling in control of how I feel, ect....hahah I know im a wierdo! Anyways I cant wait to meet my little girl but this is alot to take in. Looks like if the plan persists....we will meet her in 2 weeks from today! He did say if I start getting labor contractions that are some what regular I have to rush to the hospital and it would turn into an emergency c-section if she is still breech because there are far too many risks with a breech delivery.
Only 7 more working days till maternity leave.....
I hope everyone is doing well and having a good week! Hugs to all!

Saturday, 18 Jul Hey do not worry about it. You will get to see your baby girl soon! I had a C-section and it was extremely painful afterwards but everything was fine. Do NOT worry about it :-). Wow..it seems like only yesterday you told us you were pregnant! I cant wait to see pictures! One thing I recommend..ask the nurses if they have a belly wrap. That thing was the best for me after my C-section! It will be hard afterwards but so great seeing your little one! RainbowRach -
Thursday, 16 Jul I understand you wanting to experience labour, but on the bright side you have a date that you are going to meet your little girl, that is AMAZING!!!!! OMG!!! its sooooo close!!!
I have read lots of stories about c-section and although it is a major op, I think for most its really not as bad as you think :)
HOW EXCITING!!!!!! hehe 29th July!!!! Although, it wouldnt be unheard of for her to turn and you go into natural labour. Lmao. Babies seem to have their own agenda.
YAY for leaving work soon. I have 6 days to go, I CANNOT WAIT to leave!!! x x dreaelise14 -
Wednesday, 15 Jul Have you discussed trying to turn your baby into the proper position with your doctor? I had this done at 38 weeks with my first son (called a cephalic version) & it worked great! I'm sure they've discussed it with you already, but I thought I'd just ask. I hope everything goes great! the orlandos -

Wednesday, 15 Jul YAY!! Its great to have a date when she will arrive i think and now you can count down the days until you actually have her to me thats soo exciting! Because i always through my pregnancy had fixed in my head 31st may would be my babies birthday but nope he came on the 6th june!! So i think that you know her birthdaybefore she's here is cool! I know the c-section seems scary but iv'e heard from people who have had one including my aunties and my good friend who have been ok with a c-section and have no regrets and they recovered well, It maybe would of been nice to have a natural birth but as she's breech the choice has been taken out of your hands unforunatley, Anyway chin up chick she will be here soon and thats super exciting woop! Your gonna be a mommy in 2 weeks YAY!! i'll be thinking of you take care x x Splenda -
Wednesday, 15 Jul Stacky jr surely is being stubborn!! I hope she turns, but I'm excited that we get to see her soon! Take care and call me if you need ANYTHING!! HUGS! TashaS -
Wednesday, 15 Jul Staci; I'm sorry to hear that your little girl is being so darn stubborn. Bright side is you only have 2 more weeks and then you can give her a proper scolding when your holding her in your arms... followed by a big snuggle and a bunch of kisses of course! heathert -
Wednesday, 15 Jul 2 weeks how exciting. I hope baby decides to rotate for you. I had a friend that was scheduled for a c- section and 1 week before she was having some pain and it was the baby turning so she went into labor a few days later. I was shocked the baby turned so late so it can happen! Good luck and you get to meet your baby soon! AllyCat62683 -
Wednesday, 15 Jul I hope everything goes smoothly for you in these last couple of weeks. I've only got 8 (including today) more working days til I go on leave too! YEAH heathernunez -
Wednesday, 15 Jul Good Luck. I Am Sure You Will Do Fine. I Have Had 6 C-Sections And People Used To Tell Me All Kinds Of Things But Once I Had One I Couldn't Imagine Giving Normal Birth. Just A Bit Of Advice. When They Let You Get Up And Walk, Walk!!! It May Hurt To Waklk But Do It Otherwise You Will Really Hurt From All The Bloating!! When I Gave Birth Via C-Section On June 26th, I Was Up Walking 6 Hours After Delivering And I Was Able To Go Home Within 2 Days. Alot Of Times C-Sections Stay 4-5 Days. Good Luck And I Will Keep You In My Prayers. I Know You Can't Wait To Hold Your Lil Bundle Of Joy!! STCT -
Wednesday, 15 Jul Congrats!!! It muct be hard knowing you'll have a c-section when you wanted a natural birth, but in the long run she'll be heathly and you guy's will fall in love with her. blondiex2 -
Wednesday, 15 Jul Atleast no matter how its done you get to see your little girl in the end :). You'll be ok! Diegirl -
Wednesday, 15 Jul I am sorry to hear about your news, but I am sure it will all be fine. She may yet turn. My first son did a week before I delivered him. At 39 weeks he was breech. I was sent for an U/S at 40 weeks and he had turned by then. If you do have the c section you will have the option of how much pain meds you take and they will figure out what works best for you. So, if some make you loopy there are other kinds they can try. I feel for you as I know it sucks when things do not go as you planned. My thoughts are with you... I hope you feel better and I am sure you will do fine. *hugs*
