Birth Story (April 20, 2008)
I went in on April 15th. I had to be at the hospital at 8 am and really felt no fear, just excitement. It was kind of weird to go in at a scheduled time with no labor pains or anything. It was odd to walk in to the hospital and say I am here to have my baby-lol!
I was a little afraid of the spinal and it did suck a little but other than that the c-section went well. It was very easy to recover from and I really felt very little pain over the next few days.
When he was born I heard him cry, he was only part way out and I started bawling from the emotion of hearing him cry. I was so lucky to hear him cry so soon. They let me peek at him and then took him over to the table to run all the tests and I could see everything. He was so sweet and it was love at first sight and even though I knew he was coming for nine months, it was still like shock that I was looking at my own baby and that he was mine.........
It was a healing birth for me too because this baby is my only baby I got to hold immediately and when they put him in my arms I started to telling him I loved him and he had five big brothers who wanted to meet him and his eyes opened wide and he looked right at me. I will never forget that moment as long as I live.
I wonder if it was easier to heal because I had no labor pains this time???? I was walking on Wednesday morning and could stand up straight right away. The best c-section I ever had. I guess I can still have another baby but I do have alot of scarring so there is a high risk associated with that. |
